Rattle/Bang

Hi guys

A buddy of mine has the E90 320D automatic. His car is making a rattling sound by the front left light. It only happens while the car is idling and in drive. When he drives of or puts it in neutral, the banging stops. This is a sporadic fault and doesn't happen every time. Is this a common fault and does anyone know where I should start looking? Any help making me look like a gear-head would be appreciated.

I didn't see one, but I'll check if I missed any pieces... Those damn birds are so slow once you get over 120km/h
