Radio interference

Gents,

I need some help/advice. When I switch on the my car's ( 2004 Ind ) rear window demister, the radio sounds to distort. Now I know that the BMW's radio "aerial" is incorporated into the back window crossing the window heater strips, or something like that. But surely this shouldn't happen.

I've seen this before, there is a small areial amplifier on the C pillar.

I think that needs replacing, as happened to me, but it's difficult to diagnose, need to check all the connections on the window first

Any idea where we could find this earth wire? Or device. Can someone post a pic?
IV noticed this only happens when the radio and Demister is on. It does not happen if the Cd/ipod is used.

Thanks

Being a heating element there will be negative and positive connected to the demister.

I suggest you use a multimeter and test for +ve and the other connection will be -ve.

Hi guys,
Thanks for advice carbon,WIll try that out soon.
I manage to find something
on another forums that states that the whole screen may need to be replaced, something about the current arking due to a break on the demister lines on the screen, when installing or removing tint or any work on the rear screen, Ill have to read up a little more on it
