E90.

Still, can't believe that a 320d is not too far off from a Honda S2000. If only I decided to get the 320d instead of the petrol. :bawling:

Reviews and specs aside, the S2000 is a pretty quick car. Raced one a while back at the old Wesbank raceway with my Astra OPC H, we launched together I held him of in 1st and 2nd but he came past me in 3rd at a rate of knots. Spoke to the owner of the S2000, said the car was worked but did not give any details.
My OPC was one of the stronger stock one's did something like 157kw @ wheels. No contest from e46/e90 330i/D, also edged slightly tweaked 130i's at the reef, runs up to and passing 250km/h.

S2000 is a screamer with decent performance.

If you just do chip, cams, filter and exhaust on that S2000, you get it up to 200kw no problem.
I know they fast, but if they stock you still got a chance, hell, even if it's tuned you take him on.
He might gearslip, and then you have him, and then you can tell everyone how your 320i took out a S2000. :)

So your car isn't as fast as I thought it was. :) But I don't get why is the 0-60 mph time and 0-100 times so different ?

Maybe I'll see your car at the breakfast run. I might decide to take your car on. :)

well, I might not be in Pretoria that time, still deciding if I'm in the mood to go visit my sister in Lichtenburg or not... NOT!!!
So if I decide to stay home on my leave, 16-25 december, then you will see me there.
You are talking about the meet on the 19th??

Yes, the 19th, I think. I was told to make it this time otherwise someone on the forum would beat me up. So I have to go this time. :)

My name normally appears on the list with a "compulsory" written next to it,
so being threatened to be beat up is actually ok.

Well I hope to see you there. I'm definitely not going to miss out this time. Would like to meet you folks. I also hope there are some nice hot single girls making it to the meet as well. Oh, that reminds me, are there are hot single girls posting on this forum ? :)

PS: if you see the guy in the S2000 before then, stop him and invite him,
but don't tell him its a bmw meet, so when he shows we can all give him some k@k!! :)

Hehe...I'll try to invite a bunch of Audi guys over with one Lexus IS250 guy for good measure. We always need the odd man out. :)

Lunatik, I've got an E90 320i. 110 kw's. :) I just thought the extra weight on the S2000 (remember, two other people in the car at the time besides the driver) might make it a more competitive run but to make matters worse he caught me off guard which kind of screwed up the race for me.

BTW: Even that logic doesn't add up. The S2000 is about 180KG lighter than the 320i. And it has 177kw vs your 110kw. So even if it had 2 big oaks (which it can't) extra you are equal weight and still 67kw short. Torque figures are actually comparable, so you should be able to keep up till about 50km/h, where you have to shift and then he will say bye-bye.... After about 3rd gear, you almost never stand a chance against a more powerful car because the influince that weight has on acceleration becomes small versus the drag.

I think someone is being a bit optimistic :)

And just so that my post is slightly on topic: the S2000 is a pretty awesome car, to be able to get more power out of a 2(ish)l engine than BMW got out of a 3l (e46) is pretty awesome, too bad honda has stopped making good cars.
I would be careful in taking on an S2000 in anything less than and including an e46 330i.

Why an E46 330i ? Why not an E90 330i ? Doesn't the E90 330i have more power and similar weight ?

Would a Golf GTI and S2000 be a decent match up or would the S2000 leave it in the dust as well ? Another question would be, if I had a 320d (stock), would I be able to keep up with an S2000...
