Congratulations on the purchase. I got to drive one of these bad boys not so long ago and I must say I Want I Want I want, the exhaust note, the performance, unbelievable. i found the performance so satisfactory I ask myself if one were to put the JB4 kit, how insane the performance would be there haha. Congrats again Sir enjoy her to the fullest and may you have many happy miles with her.

Good day ppls!

Just thought its time for a proper *UPDATE* on this thread and its something I've wanted for a while:rollsmile:

So, when I got this car I initially thought I'd do a rim change in the near future. That near future never came and I could think of a 100 hundred other things to do with that money... So I shelved the idea.

Fast forward a bit, after searching pics of my car on some overseas forums for ideas, I came across a white 335i with gloss black 403M wheels. Now I've seen many ppl go down the matte black route with plastidip/paint (which I don't like) but I hadn't seen gloss black. Which is when I decided this is what I'm going to do.

Now the decision to paint or dip? Well that was an easy one since I didn't want it permanent and easily change back to the polished look if need be. But what type of dip? Plastidip was never going to work since it was never going to be glossy enough for my liking. So I contacted my mate Fa'eez from XclusivMods (Forum Sponsor) who uses Foliatec products. Thanks a lot my bro!

I was a bit skeptical at 1st but all I can say now is, I swear by the stuff! I absolutely love the way it came out and the murdered out look is really turning heads!:roflol:

Aaaand, the pics speak for themselves! :praise:

:ty:

Those wheels are too sexy, you making the itch to do it also even worse

With Plasti-dip you have to do quite a number of coats so its easy when you peel it off, if you do too less coats its a mission to peel off.

Well I think there is more too it. I don't believe a matte black wheel finish would suit a glossy black car. But in other instances, the matte black looks way better than the glossy black.

Its a nice job if you don't want a contrast. But now you are going to need to keep the silicon spray handy for the tyre walls.

Your car looks good. Congrats.

Personally, in your case, I would have gone for the gun-metal grey to add that slight contrast, and negate the dull tyre contrast. (like in the photo below - altho different wheels).

Thanks guys, really appreciate it! If you ever thinking of doing it, Foliatec is the way to go!

Thanks bud!

I agree, matte black doesn't suit a gloss black car but there's many ppl that have done it. It works I guess if you have other matte accents on your car.
I get what you're saying about the gun metal too, was thinking along the lines of the M135i wheels, looks quite good but I was really going for the murdered out look. The headlights and taillights are next to be "smoked"!

Your car is is great condition. The good thing about your wheels not being permanent is you can enjoy it the way it looks now and when you need a change, its easy enough.

Enjoy and keep the pictures coming

To complete the look, tint the headlights and brake lights.
And at the back replace the exhaust tail pieces with black ones...could be a direct swap from a M135i/M235i

Will be doing that soon bud! :tiptoe:
Wrt the tips, I heard the M135i/235i slip on's are slightly smaller than the F30s? They do look a bit smaller. Not sure how true that is but if it fits, it will make for a nice look that wont break the bank! :roflol: I was considering carbon but they're freaking expensive.

Sooooo, time for a small update and review on the Foliatec....

Well... I really didn't expect to be writing out this post but here we are. 2 days after the Foliatec was done, this is what happened:

20160227_172338_7088758866.jpg

Yes, after the 1st wash, the degreasing agent in the car shampoo completely killed the Foliatec. It turned matte black and thinned and began to peel. And just like that, it turned into what I absolutely didn't want!
So my advice, don't take the easy way out and waste money like I did, just go with paint.

Which is what I've done and couldn't be happier
After chatting to Gert, I sent my wheels over to Renuamag in Edenvale and the results speak for themselves! Really quality work done and I will be using their services in future!

Now for the results:

Mmmmmm Glossy AF! :in-love:

Renuamag doesn't provide loan wheels, so a friend of mine was kind enough to lend me a set to use just to keep it moving and make it a stance car for a day :roflol: Thanks a mil bru!!!!
