I believe its time I ACTUALLY updated this thread.... 🤦♂️
Can't say why I stopped updating this thread but its not good to dwell on the past (and other excuses.....). But what I can say is, I've been enjoying the car, rather than posting about it🤷♂️
I'll try to keep it chronological and recall all of it to the best of my ability, which I will agree, is quite K@K after covid... 🤦♂️
Now on to the first update... which isn't much of an update (LOL).
The year is 2018, the Vorsteiner style lip came to an untimely demise on the back entrance to Melrose Arch (no fault of mine ofcourse, LOOOOL). Needless to say, I wasn't quick to get it replaced as these accessories were quite expensive back then!!! Nowadays, it seems like everyone and their uncle are into selling accessories.... So I pretty much enjoyed the car as is without the lip for a while.
Had a quick shoot with another FAMOUS 335i... pics by Mo SD Studios
Also enjoyed our first Race Day with the new format, Circuit & Drags. I felt it was the perfect time to get acquainted with my car on track!
But as fate would have it, I didn't get much of a chance. Since being Events Coordinator it was a bit too busy on the day. I only managed to get 1 session of track time in. It was enough though to get me hooked!!! The car felt right at home

Welcome to 2019 yaawwwwlll😎 "The good old days" Honestly, it still feels like it was last year (DAFUQ)
To kick off, I decided it was finally time to get the car back to looking the way I envisioned when this whole thing began!
I enlisted @FiRi@Rennzport to get me a new front lip for the car. By this time, things were a whole lot cheaper and Rennzport were (and still are) bringing in some of the most quality CF products I'd seen.
On to the type of lip: people were just killing the M Performance, CS, ACS, Vorsteiner, 3D design lips - don't get me wrong, they do look good. I just wanted something different, that was only done overseas (and maybe a handful in S.A) at the time...
I eventually went with the Varis style lip 😍 which is undoubtedly the most aggressive design you could get back then. Even now, people still ask where I got it from, since there's so few around🤷♂️
I personally feel like it flows very well with the car's design and doesn't feel misplaced at all. It also provides decent aero!
A few shots before I went to get it fitted... (for those that asked, the taillights do have LaminX , gun smoke is the colour, think).
And.... HERE WE GOOOOO!!!!!!😁😁

Time for another update here... and I feel I'm still waaaaaaay, waaaaaaay behind 🤦♂️ so much has happened since.
But I think more frequent updates are something I should get down to........ at some point......... once the thread is finally up to date (LOL)!!! 🙃😅
2019 had its fair share of ups and downs, but the mods didn't stop - which IMO is also one of the BEST feelings😁
This is also something I had been putting off for a long time, not so much lack of interest - because I was VERY interested but more since I was enjoying the car "stock". The stock S55 has PLENTY more power compared to an N55, so I wasn't complaining in this dept....
But Zee and Firi from Rennzport, as a bro does🤣 twisted my arm by giving me an offer I simply couldn't refuse. And pulled the trigger on another JB4, this time with rev 3 kit. On the 335 I just had the USB OTG, which did become quite cumbersome over time, so this was MUCH needed!
Received at work nogal, so I had a BEEEEEEEG smile at the office, for no apparent reason🤣
I know people consider these "old tech" now, and it seems like every day there's some new tuning shop, flashing this or that. But, IMO, the JB4 will ALWAYS have it's place in the tuning scene.
Had it fitted by The 357, Sanj did all the testing and the car had been all good since.

Unfortunately, as time passed, my interest (in tuning the car) dwindled. Something or the other crept up. My car missed the rollers at every dyno day we had (bar 2019, which I firmly believe the numbers were wrong). I didn't get a chance to REALLY take full advantage of this, I kick myself daily for not doing so🤦♂️ - it's still fitted to my car, but always on an auto-tune or built-in map.
Maybe sometime in the near future I'll get a chance to do a custom map 6 to unleash all the hidden ponies the S55 has. After driving my uncle's M4 with the custom map, there are some proper gains to be had! (Old news, but worth a mention).
But I think more frequent updates are something I should get down to........ at some point......... once the thread is finally up to date (LOL)!!! 🙃😅

This next update, I think we can file under: The TFAP Chronicles…. 🤦♂️😂
My original idea was to get a more aggressive bootspoiler to match the overall look of the car. As I thought the boot was a bit tame.
Rennzport supplied me with a high-kick PSM style spoiler. The product had no faults whatsoever and looked so freaking good when mocked up!
But as fate would have it, when the old spoiler was removed (in pieces I might add) the dude who fitted it used a rather nasty adhesive (something worse than sika), which ate all the way into the paint, leaving all kinds of scratches, marks and flat spots. Making it unable for the new spoiler to be fitted, as all the reveal lines were completely different.
Let’s chalk it down to a lesson learnt and get proper/trusted people to fit your stuff!!! (The guy had since closed shop, so I had no recourse either, LOL).
I will definitely be revisiting this in the near future. Will have to respray and blend the boot a bit, before a new spoiler can be fitted. It will likely be another PSM style spoiler though😁
