Could be wrong but that's what i rememberimp:
ETTIENNE said:The BMW logo emblem history. The blue and white round BMW logo has almost 100 years. Inspired by the traditional flag of Bavaria and originally intended as a graphic representation of the fast turning airplane propeller, the BMW roundel is today a symbol of joy of driving.

**PUlls out BMW History Books which all BMW employee's need to study and get 90% for before starting with the BMW Group**
I quote from page 5 of the study booklet:
" A white and blue circular propeller becomes the company logo of Bayerische Motoren Werke, characterising an aircraft engine in the air. Leaving aside a few minor changes, this logo symbolises the BMW brand to this day."
This is taken directly from the study manual provided by BMW when I started at MINI. A Portrait.
Hope this clears up any confusion. Ask me anything else cos this book contains loads of info.

Uhmm... Did you watch the vids??? The second one is originally from www.bmw.tv. It's printed at the end of the vid. The prop image came way after the logo was designed. So unless someone went to the future during that time...

Not going to argue with you. I have just quoted directly from a text book that was shoved in my face 6 months ago when I started with BMW.
I had to study it and more. So I wont argue... If I must post a pic of the book then I will.

Clownshoe said:I have seen alot of debate on the subject and the first picture of the logo actually illustrated as a propellar was long after the logo was used. That doesn't mean that the logo was not intended to be a prop from day one though.

Please explain how this is not evidence or fact enough. :dunno:
