Rick has owned 40 BMW's with a batch of E30's in there including a 325is, and have rebuilt several so yes I do know them.

awesome! count me in then:thumbs:

I'll vouch for Rick's workmanship any day! Bought my car from him and the quality of the work he did on it is unmatched.

You guys are too nice, but thanks, I do work very hard at what I do, also proud of the fact I actually think about what I'm doing.

I also share a passion for working on fine autos that half the industry lacks, this is much more than just a job for me.

This is an awesome idea however there is one problem, you should open the shop in PTA not in the Western Cape :fencelook::fencelook:

Folks,

Throughout the last few years, Rick has been one of the constants on the forum, with his experiance being absolutly vital, and have saved many a member a bucket load of money.

Anybody considering any form of mechancial work to be done can take their vehicles to Rick and have utter piece of mind that the best job possible will be done, or most importantly, if there is any problem or snag, that the customer will be dealt with in an honest and ethical manner...

Rick FTMFW.... seriously..

Im glad your doing this Rick, :bravo:  :joy:

Rick's always willing to help and knows tons. I've been to a few workshops in and around Somerset West and I've been disappointed by all.

So just do it :thumb:

So hard to find quality automotive work anywhere. Even if you willing to pay decent money. That why im always stuck between DIY and the dealership.

Dont know much about this field as i do servicing and other uncomplicated stuff myself as SOME mechs that i have been to are good but missing 1 important attititude and thats taking pride in thier work... but what i do know is that reputation is very important and by the looks of this thread u have a good reputation. Like all new businesses, dont grow too fast, thats all i can contribute...other than that if its your passion than go for it, ALL THE BEST!

Just my 2cents worth!

I was just wondering about doing myself a career change and wondering if I open a BMW workshop in Capetown, who would use it?

Those that know me are aware I have an approach that's different from the norm, I know my BMW's, I diagnose extensively before attempting to solve a problem and I never rush. I'll leave the bits about being an obsessive perfectionist out.

I would have to start small, doing diagnosis and routine services only, but who would use my service if I attempted this?

you seem to be trusted and that goes along way in cpt.
if you do gimme call if you need your corporate ID sorted.

I may be up again on the 1st December just for the day. Wouldn't mind playing transporter again .. if it can fit under my arm:=):

Thanks all, wont let you down, to be honest I prefer small growth, and would rather do a lesser amount of work properly as opposed to taking on whatever comes my way as that is the problem with some specialists. A rush job is as good as no job at all.

I think we now have a name sorted.

Rick, this is a fantastic idea and I feel you will do extremely well.

Twinz mentioned in a thread of his that might do the same (more of a tongue in cheek comment though) which had me suggesting that if you are going to go this route rather open a "clinic" as such where everything is included.

Offer everything from basic services, to tuning (I know the CPI guys extremely well) all the way through to basic car products down to detailing and valet.

Cape Town does not have a company that incorporates all of the above with the skill and detail you offer when you work.

Either way my BMW, mothers merc, fathers merc and the partners Golof will be coming to you.

Mike that's a cool idea and I would rather "network" there to whomever is a specialist at their particular field, and I'll do the final quality control which I have always been paranoid about.
