Thanks mate, its the new addition. Surprisingly the ride is so smooth compared my M340i cannot compare. 2.0D is very smooth in power delivery compared to our previous X1
Does your X3 have electric seats? I recently went to have a look at a G01 X3 and was quite annoyed that BMW changed the seat adjustment mechanism from the lever type to the 'push it down a hundred times' to get to the lowest setting.

On my F25 X3, I jump in (after the wife has driven), pull the lever on the seat and my ass goes all the way down. The new ones are just so irksome without electric seats.

No Electric seats, same issue with my wife, I usually just end up moving the seat back and leaving the height adjustment, unless its a long a journey. It does get annoying but the drive makes up for it.

Today I bid the M340i Farewall, its been a good overall exeperience, performance wise it always put a smile on my face, The M Performance Exhaust played a big part in that and its worth every penny, there are some software versions that mute the exhaust or completely kill the pops and burbles, most of the latest software versions from 2022 onwards have that sorted, your bmw dealership can update the software for you. Most likely they will say the software doesn't affect the exhaust but that is utter bull dust.

Issues that were resolved by bmw during Ownership:
  1. Sunroof Noise - Sqeaking (Car went in on 2 different occasions). BMW Midrand know what to do.
  2. Battery fault - Cause all sort of weird issues, the way to tell is start/stop won't kick in, vehicle fails to start fires up once and then switches off.
  3. idrive randomly locks up when using android/auto, software updates work and also getting the lastest iphone/android phone works, not sure which one actualy was the fix.
  4. Steering noise whir/whine when turning the steering wheel, mostly heard when the sound system is muted. We compared to other cars including a m135i x drive and it was the same. However some US Guys had it fixed under warranty. I eventually just brought myself to live with it.
  5. Squeaky brakes - Worn discs, was resolved by BMW Bryanston.
  6. Randomly the car will tell me vehicle key not detected when jumping inside with the key in my pocket or hand. I eventually put up with it.
  7. Delay when pushing the start button vs when the vehicle actually starts.
Amidst the few problems I experienced it was a very good car to drive, ample speed, good on road comfort, practical for the family, a blast to drive and while being an xdrive car I found it to be very rear biased while allowing fun in a controlled manner. I wish I could of modded it but BMW motorplan was needed and the risk was not worth it.

And thats a wrap!
