Quick guide on how to upload images to posts

Hi,

I get asked a couple of times, how to upload images, what is the correct way and also how to do more than 1 image at a time.

When you create a new post or new reply (not quick reply) then you should see the following at the bottom:
View attachment 2

Select "Choose Files" and you computer will allow you to select images to upload. In this next screenshot, I have selected 3 images by clicking the top image, then hold down shift button while I select the bottom image in the 3 selected images:

Then when you have clicked "Open" or "Upload" depending on what your browser calls it, it will look like this. At this stage these are not uploaded yet:

Then after you clicked "Upload attachments" it will look like this:
View attachment 5

Now you can click the "insert into post" and it will add the BBcode for the attachment, to have the image show for you in your post. You can make use of the "Preview Post" to see what it will look like before actually posting.

Let me know if you have any questions or find issues where in a specific section it doesn't show the Attachments section when creating a post.

Where (specific section on the forum) are you trying to post, and just to double check, its not the quick reply?

It is BMW Models Section, and this thread too.

Ok try now. If it still fails, I will need to know even more specific which sub forum the issue is.

Hi, I don't see the "Attachments" at the bottom of my screen. I'm using a desktop if that helps.

I don't have the "attachments" option either, only option I get is the url link.

Will send a screen shot of my screen from tapatalk as its the only way I can add an image.

ok I didn't enable attachments for the rules and announcements section. You should test in the showroom or the bmw car models or market place.

Does this method only work in the above sections? I do not see it in my build thread but I can see it in the Showroom. What is strange is that I can see the pictures when posting so not sure if I'm not using the URL function correctly.

This is a very old thread, or rather, the method when the forum was running phpbb instead of xenforo on which it is now. Adding images now is as simple as tapping the Insert Image icon and dragging an image to it (at least on computer). On mobile I suspect you add a URL.

If I click on the insert image icon it asks me to insert a URL. So I cannot click and drag anything into the reply box. Using Chrome on pc so not sure if this is also a reason.

Possibly permissions needs to be double checked for the exact part of the forum.
