Hey everyone,

The 5 service blocks on the Beemers, is 1 service block equal to 2000kms? Or does it work some other way....

It measures the ammount of petrol your car uses to work out when your next service will be.. its not related to the km's ..

:excited:

My intervals on the diesel SHOULD be 15000km, but I manage to get between 10 and 12k between services...

My e36 tends to run an average of 2000 km's on 1 block. Give or take a few.

well, the car practically thinks for itselft ...the computer looks at your odometer km's, car speed, engine speed, engine temperature, time that your car was moving and standing still, petrol consumption ... its quite insane...

not sure what the EXACT calculations are ... but yeah, it pretty much takes everything into consideration .. my service intervals are always quite different... sometimes it goes quick :) sometimes it takes quite a while longer :D

just depends howmuch highway/city driving you do I guess.

On a similar topic, does anyone with a new car check to see if there service book is stamped. On my M5 there isnt one single stamp in it, must be cause they keep the motorplan records online ?

If you phone BMW they can give you full history under motorplan.

The service lights can also move if your car stands for long lengths at a time !

My E 36 runs between Durbanville and Kenilworth every day, the same time, the same speed, so my service indicator drops like clockwork.
