Q. about milage on a 330i

Seeing that everybody is chatting away about 330's i have the next Q to ask. I might do a deal this weekend on a 2001 330i with 190k on the clocks. FSH. Do i need to be worried about the milage. It's an auto box. I have a 330d 2004 for myself, but want this for the better half of me.

Engine should be fine, especially with the autobox, you are pretty sure it wasn't overrevved.

On the topic of the autobox, hmm, Maybe you should speak to St Lunatic, SirSparky and a few others first. They both had autobox problems.

I am just worried about the box. How often do the guy's have problems with these boxes. I have just read a story about a bad box! When i chat to the owner he said he spend 12g's on the box last year due to some "sticky gear"
problem. Not sure what he meant by that.

The box really is your main concern. Do you get full service history? Ask him to supply you with more info on the box repair.

Owner told me FSH. Might be a good idea to go into the repair of the box. I will really suffer if i need to pay 20g or so fixing a box.

Well,

A good oil change on a working box will go a long way to keep in from die'ing.

Yes there is wear and tear, and its usually one of the 3 clutch packs inside that goes due to wear and tear, but a good oil change should keep her rolling.

Thanks for all your responses. If i do the deal, the owner will travel about a 1000km to me. This surely will be a good test to make sure all things are ok!
