thanks a lot for the advise....makes a lot of sense what you are saying.....i got the car about 2 months now and im so used to it....thought that since its designed by the same company the crankshaft displacement and stuff would only be different ...but thanks anyway :=):

an engine swap is not a small job and there will be plenty small problems to solve when if you do it...

the engine is already boosted if the internals can take 400hp thats more than enough for a Fwd rather look at how to get enough boost on there...

And you have a GP?

Please do not mod a original GP. there is only 2000 in the world and they are very special. If you want to mod something, get a normal Cooper S.

We can swap if you want.

O, phew.

Yip you should be able to get a belt locally. just to be safe get one size smaller than what is on the car. You can google what size the original is and what is recomended for the reduction pulley.

First off, you must remember that you started off with 120kw, you might be at 130-135kw now and golfs are know to be under estimates on power, so he might be at 160 kw stock. (All crank figures). He also has at least 80-100 nm more than you have so you realy need to catch them in a wrong gear.

Where are you getting a detroit tuned bpv? Mike on here has one for you for chips, might be worth looking at.

If you want to try I have a full oem exhaust that you can do a one ball mod on lying in my garage. you can get it for free if you pickup. Then you can remove the other cat and have them mod the exhaust as you please.

To stick with gti btw, I would add a filter and then do programming. other thing is to get launching perfect.

No, notat the moment, there are a few guys that regularly track on the normal Zwartkops track days. you can join in there if you like.

hey there need some more advice on this. i did a de-cat , 15% pulley on my MCS and i got so used to it very quickly. Other upgrades like ECU are going to make a improvement ofcourse but in the end after spending all that i am going to end up with a bill and not that much satisfaction.

I have done some research and people overseas are reaching power gains between 300hp - 400hp on the stock internals. So my conclusion is : Turbo charge the MCS (not twin charge)

thanks
