There is quite a few good writeups on NAM, and everything comes with instructions, BUT, a list of stuff oyu need will go a long way, and putting on the instructions to "Remove as per described in the workshop manual" doesn't help allot.

So for anybody with questions, just ask away.

Ultimately a fairly easy install.

Hi,

The car ran wonderfully. I didn't have a remap due to advice that was given by several parties.

Unfortunately the car was stolen and recently found completely stripped so no more Cooper S for me

Right door sold. Sunroof was stripped off. Front and back bumper gone.

We're still talking to the police and insurance to see what's going to happen.

I'm so bleak. Going to struggle to find a Cooper S like that again :(

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be considered written off. I've only seen photos and it looks pretty overs.

Damn bastards!

And you had such a nice one with low k's.

Can't believe people do stuff like this.

Keep me updated, if its written off it will ba a shame.

And ask them if you can just take some bits off. like the pulleys.

Yeah, that's what i want to do. If they write it off, i'm going to try and get as much as i can off it. Especially the pulleys.

Well, they're going to pay out for what I insured it for and that was for how much i paid for it.

I'm just waiting to see what happens. You never know with these guys. I'll let you know what/if i can take things off the car. And if so, i'll grab the steering wheel if it's still on the car.

Unfortunately, i need to spend all my money on getting a new car and i dont have the excess money lying around for a project car, just yet. Maybe in a few years.

Anything is doable but not realy worth it.

Short answer is no it is not the same engin, the 2l neon motor is bigger and nothing fits from the one to the other. the other BIG plus for the mini motor in stead of the boat anchor is the fact that you already have forged internals and magnesium filled valves and all the bell and wistles that comes with owning something that has bmw written on it.

What you can do is either rape the car by fitting some stupid cheap jap motor why someone will do this(and someone did fit a 4age to a mini already) is beside me. Other option is a stroker kit for import from the states. Otherwise just get a twin-charge kit, also import from states or build your own. May reason I say this is the stock bottom end CAN handle 400 hp for a while, that is more than double the power you have now.

Realy, I wouldn't go backwords to a weaker motor than what you have and then try make more power.
