So I have a few updates.

When i got the car it was just over 80 000km with a service done already. I decided that i will service the car every 10 000km's.

The car currently has FSH so i was contemplating whether to keep that going or to do it myself going forward. Long story short, i purchased the service kit, brake pads and the cambelt & tensioner from Goldwagen.

I bought the parts before 90 000km and ended up servicing the car on 88 700km. I still need to fit the brakes this weekend and hopefully get enough time to do the cambelt as i passed the 90 000km mark and is now priority. I tend to suck at pictures so bare with me.

Parts for the job. Goldwagen did not have stock of the Hx5 or 7 oil unfortunately.

Onto a more exciting update.

After what felt like forever, i finally purchased a set of coilovers.I was a little disappointed in finding out that FK does not manufacture a kit for an Mk1 as that was the brand i intended to go for. Nevertheless, I ended up with JOM Bluelines.

Surprised myself as I was one of the many believers that JOM is not as good as Maxtrac in terms of "budget" coilovers, however, not to sound bias. I do find the JOM on my citi better than the Maxtrac on my E46. Although to be fair, i still had the helper spring on which does cause a more sniffer ride & i also went lower on the Maxtrac.

But speaking on the JOM, it gives a surprisingly soft ride and handles better on a rough road.

Anyway, onto some pictures :

I was too lazy to use springs clamps so i decided to open the shock far away from the car.

Hey guys.

Been a while since I've posted. Got some small updates below.

1. Corrado Lip

So front spoilers are not always my prefernce in some cars, Especially ones that completely changes the shape of your bumper. However, the clearance from my bumper to the floor was huge with the coilover adjustment i am running. I also can't go any lower without C-notcing the car to clear my driveshaft. So I've decided to go ahead with it. There are times that i like it and times that i really don't. Although i am not too fused as it can be removed. Theres a before and after picture.

Moving along...

2. Waterpump Failure : 95 000KM

My waterpump gave up. With the mileage just past 90 000km it was maintenance I always knew i would soon need to do.

Luckily i went to Powerflow to get this changed as we've found that the previous owner never changed the Waterpump before. Leading to the bolts breaking into the block.

- Waterpump
- Thermostat
- Cambelt & Tensioner
- Injector Cleaner

Was replaced.

However, with taking out spark plug 1 to get the motor TDC. I dropped the plug and closed the gap. Leading the car to misfire when i put it back. While not finding the fault at first, I ended up also replacing the below.

- Distributor Cap
- Rotor
- Plug Leads
- Water temp sensor
- Throttle Body Clean

And in the end. 4 NGK Spark plugs.

3. Second Service 103 000km

- Air Filter
- Petrol Filter
- NGK Spark Plugs (Again)
- OEM Oil Filter
- Helix Hx5 oil

With my first service i used Hx3 20w50, which is the recommended thickness of oil. However the Hx5 is so much better. And the engine runs so much smoother. If your motor has decent mileage and is in overall good condition, I recommend Hx5 as it is slightly thinner oil.

4. Front Grill

From the time i bought the car. This was something that always needed to be done. I initially shopped around for a new grill but i could not find an OEM one. So I've decided to respray my current grill.

Nice bud...So good to see a thread on a Citi Golf again...

I had 3 of these and each one was a special little car.

Last was a 2007 facelift Candy White Velo 1.4i...Ran neck- and neck with the Life 1.6i after I had the Exhaust and Branch done and a K&N Filter.

Proper bud, enjoy it!!!
