I have the Powerbrake GT series disks with the endless mx72 pads which are a crossover between hard road use and a full on track pad. The life of the pads are great and the bite is equally good... although the sacrifice of squealing brakes is price to pay (and the endless pads are quite pricey)

A small price for what must be one of the best hardcore braking systems for street use.

Just out of curiosity, do ATE not make the complete set of Pads and Disks ? I just bought for the 330i from Midas fronts and rears R3600 for the whole set. Always use ATE, not sure who made the OEM for the M's though.

Personally I'd rather change more often than have squelling brakes, drive me f%cking nuts !!!!!

The OEM discs and pads are better than the PowerBrake equivalent. My opinion.

My opinion (and this is specifically aimed at the e46 M3) is that the powerbrake replacement GT series are way better. Better initial bite, more fade resistant, lasts longer, uniform wear and is quiet. I have never driven in an M3 with OEM discs that is quiet.
The only downside is that the discs are much heavier because they are entirely cast iron, whereas the OEM ones have the aluminum hat
