Power steering pump (E46)

Hi, a few weeks ago, I posted about the noise on my steering pump. Tx to all that answered, I changed the oil and noise was gone. A few days ago, the pump gave up. I phoned around and the problem is that I am not sure what pump to go for as I heard the original pump gives problems and their is a modified one that dies not give so much of problems...please help or let me know who I can contact in jhb or pretoria

Not sure which one it is but goldwagen sells an e46 powersteering pump for R1600.

There was a improved pump released after the original E46 pump, was a bit more reinforced, stronger in general. I think it replaced the original so you should be getting quite a good one.

A good few years back I paid just over 5K at the stealers to have pump replaced.:thumbdo:
How these mother...f@#^ers have milked me.
Lucky for me I had a warranty at the time and they paid 4.5k

What oil goes in there? I just chucked in normal ATF (the red stuff in there).
I also had a leak on one of the bleeding nipples a while back.
I think I may be doing something wrong again do not want to break this pump again.
