Possible X1 purchase...

Hey guys,

I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2012 X1 2.0d Sdrive A/t for my wife. The car has got 75 000kms and i will extend the plan till late 2018...

Anybody got some experience with this model? It drives great (for some reason it feels quite a bit quicker than my E90 320d LCI)

Also, its got M Sport, pan roof, pdc etc

Just need some final words of encouragement before I pull the trigger...

Do it bud!

Have only ever heard good things and since you will be on plan for a bit, that's some reassurance should something go wrong. It will be pretty similar to your e90 in terms of general maintenance.

Sashio just bought one as well, after doing some research:

Edit: Just see this was my last post to reach 1000, haha.

Go for it. If there is anything that needs to be done on the car you have the motorplan to cover you. :clapper:

PS. Now when are you getting that 135i?

Go for it...

I got the X1 sDrive2.0d for my wife a while back. Was white Msport, etc. She actually really loved it. The car drove really well, was very economical, and we had no issues with it whatsoever.

We ended up upgrading to a X3 last year to get a bit more size, but the X1 was a great car.

Regards,

Pete

Go look at one first.

I was set on trading the E92 in on a X1 Msport the past few weeks because of needing more space for the baby that is due.

Went to spend some time with one last weekend, and although it looks awesome in pictures, it does lack something.

In my honest opinion rather look at a X3.

I miss my 135i every day! Think my next car will be an F30 335i :=):

Noted, however she's currently driving an 11 year old Honda Jazz 1.5 so the X1 will be a substantial upgrade. I would love her to get an X3 but they still pretty pricey if you are set on one that still has some m/plan left...

I have to agree, the X3 is a noticeable step up in quality from the old X1, but hence a noticeable jump in price too. If you can afford it, the X3 is undoubtedly better, but if the X1 is in the right price range - you can't go wrong. You won't regret it...

The X1 has reasonably good boot space with some extra storage areas on the side and under the board. some have the tow bars stored there.

Easy to drive and park and decent fuel consumption.

I have mine for just over 2 weeks, supposed to be for the wife but I have been using while I sort out the necessary stuff.

It definitely is small, but in a good way. I prefer the dimensions both outside and inside. I feel the boot is larger than what the outside dimensions lead one to think they are.

Personal preference for me was the 8spd gearbox, nothing wrong with the 6spd, but was looking forward to improved consumption on the lci as it also has stop/start. While many loathe it, I quite like the improvement in consumption it offers without affecting the drive negatively, if you know how to use it. Haven't used a tank yet, but my tank average thus far is 6.2l/100 with total range hovering between 1000 and 1050, which I think is excellent considering I have a 50/50split with extra urban and urban traffic. Have not taken it on a proper long run yet.
