Hi Guys. I need some advice.
I haven't seen the car yet, I've just been told about it.
The car has been lying for a while, although I'm not sure exactly how long. The car is licensed, and has 160000km on the clock.
Here's the problem though, the sellers says that the car is missing the computer box and the injectors have been stripped. I dont know the reasons yet, but i will advise as i find out more.

I feel like this might be worth a gamble and trying to get it going, since its obviously a nice car.
The seller wants R45k.
Thoughts? Is it worthwhile? How much would i be looking to get it running 100%?
Any thoughts and advice welcome.

For R45k it leaves you with some room to spend some money to fix.

In all honesty, I think it can/will probably cost another R45k to get operational, if not more (depending if there are additional issues.)

I think it's a big gamble, and personally I wouldn't take it unless I knew a mechanic that can hold my hand every step of the way.

I think for the price of getting it running on top of the purchase price you can buy yourself an already running one.

Injectors and ECU are very expensive items to replace.

Would they be parting the car out perhaps?

Have a few bits that if in good condition, I would be interested in.

I think they intend to sell it "complete." The guy does strip cars though, so I'll find out and let you know if he would do it.

My worry is that those might be the major problems, but the minor issues have not been mentioned.... and I pretty sure there those.

Incomplete non runner cars are a serious gamble. Inevitably there will be a lot more issues not mentioned and you will only find out what they are once you bought the car and replaced the DME and injectors. You need to ask yourself why they started stripping a perfectly good running car...There is always more to the story that the seller isn't telling you. Walk away.
