I'm running on 19's from 17's and I love them!!

Love the look and ride quality is the same (sportpack).

Think 18's would be a more budget concious choice, but then, it also depends on how a set of 19's will look on your car

But they don't make the ellipsoids in 19's lol...

So i went 18 :tease:

While I would prefer 19'z (OEM 225M or 167M) I know that the JRA dont particularly care about keeping our roads in tip-top shape and cracked rims are not on the top of my agenda...so 18'z for me

I have always been of the opinion that with the amount of engineering that goes into a tyre size on a car its probably not a great idea to change them unless you are going to drive pretty carefully. This is only relavent if you care about other components on your car wearing unevenly or much sooner than they should.
The design is there to work as a system and the general erule is that by changing one part you affect the whole

My 2c

sorry guys that should be wheel size

My car got a 40mm drop.... can't go bigger then 17's

But why?? please explain :fencelook:

Not sure if you can see it in my sig bafeto, theres about a pinkie finger space between the fender & tyre in front, but it doesn't touch :) previously this car had 18's with slightly lower springs (I think it was 25mm springs) & that was perfect, no rubbing or touching & there was moderate clearance between the tyre & fender

Guetzer got a 40mm drop with 18inch rims on his e36, but he had to fit spring boosters in front to lift it a little becauses it touches with bumps.
Then ur offset is wrong.. I've seen a e36 m3 on 20" rotiforms, and coilovers, riding really low... So it's always ur offset that needs to b right

Apart from the offset, theres "other work" that needs to be done to get 18inch rims to fit an E36 with a 40mm drop. SDP got e46 M3 rims narrows & wides on his e36 but had to machine the rims, roll the fenders, etc etc....

I must admit the car felt much more stable and smooth with the 19 bbs lm's as compared to the 18 bbs lm's , however the with the 18's the car still goes well , i now have 8J fronts and 9J rears , still looks as good as the rear is a step dish , im running 225/40's all round , thinking of going 235/35 at the rear though.

If you can handle the extra stretched tyre, stay with it. Staggered fitment prevents tyre rotation.
