Dear M fanatics

Any contacts for polishing my fogs on my M in the durban area ? Need to polish out the little stone chips that come with wear & tear, I know the guys that are polishing the plastic lights, but does anyone know who does glass ?

Thanking you kindly

Welcome to the Forum dude...

so to the polishing... best approach... Clay... then very light polish....

clay will remove any top level dirt...

if it's serious... you may want to consider new covers... or if you intend on going new covers.... then maybe a rotary polisher, with some decent polish on it may do the trick...

:sorry:

Thanks Spiro , will give it a try....
I see most of the technical guru's for the M's are in jhb, been reading their posts and must say they have so much passion in what they do.
I did my projectors and led angel rings with vsomai about 3 weeks ago, he is a scholar and gentlemen

I want to do this as well , The fogs on my E30 are really sandblasted , Spoke to a few glass shops , all said I should replace the lens, Im sure theres and alternate , Really want to get those pitted marks out. And im not to keen on replacing my original glass lens with plastic aftermarket .

I found this online

I did purchase some of this Ceriam oxide (it was really really expensive from what I remember) I haven't tried it yet though.

No problem , Will post here when I start that project.

I purchased mine online a long long time ago , Never got down to it and the car was then parked off . now that iv begun my small restoration (more like waking it up from its hibernation)

I may just try it out after I have finished with my other tasks .

Can one buy Hella headlamps for our cars from Hella? BMW want over R8000 for a set for these headlamps (or per headlamp ) not to sure . One of mine has a chip , the other one is looking very brown dirty inside and the others look well just dusty dirty . All are sand blasted though.

Here is a company selling the Oxide online .

@Randy , Yeah! It came out soo good! Im hoping to have the same results with my E30 fog lamps , but I hear you need to apply alot of pressure . And you need to use different grits or grades of sandpaper as well . After that its just down to polishing the glass.

What Bothers be about this , are those letters that stick out on the lens surface, How did he get around that .
