Easter weekend the Friday we leave for AfriSki Resort in Lesotho.
After a lot of beers an argument ensures that a E90 320i at cruise speed is just as fuel efficient as a polo Vivo 1.4.
Fast forward to the day we leave for JHB.
The cars.
BMW e90 Pre LCI 320i manual 156kkm on the clock with 3 male adults around 90kgs each and some lagguage.
VW Polo Vivo 1.4 Trendline manual 207kkm on the clock 2 male adults also around 90kgs each and some lagguage.
The trip
Drive to Fouriesburg. Drive around the town to finish the small fuel left on the tanks after those mountain roads in Lesotho.
Pushed the cars to a garage (I think it was a Total garage). Put R100 unleaded 93 in both cars and set off at whatever the speed limit was for the area.
Drive from Fouriesburg to Clarens, stopped to check that beer place but it was closed so we carried on through the Golden gate Highlands park stopping for insta photos and a small tour of the Basotho Cultural Village.
Both cars still going we turned on to the R57 towards Kestell and the BMW died just as we turned on to N5 towards Bethlehem. It managed to do 109km which is not bad at all.
Little polo kept on going for a bit and hit 121km before it too switched off.
What did we learn?
Absolutely nothing at all apart from the fact that even in our 30s we are still boys at heart.
Hope your Easter was productive. :fencelook:
