Planning A Charity Dyno Day

Hows it guys

I am looking at planning a dyno day for next month and having it either in Pretoria or Joburg. The aim of the dyno day is to take all the proceeds including that from the food and give it to charity.

I am thinking of giving it to the Laudium cancer Care, they are based in Laudium and help all cancer patients with oxygen machines, a nurse goes to see the patients at least once a week and every month they take all the patients on an outing. My father was the Chairman of it a couple of years ago and that's how i got to know of all the good work that they do. They have patients from like age 12 all the way to 80, at the moment they have a 17 year old patient who is really suffering and only has a few months left to live, he is also a good friend of mines and that's when i got the idea to raise money to help all the other patients as most the money received as donations are from people who live in Laudium. I would like to do my share and help in a big way, with the backing and help of the BMWFanatics.

I would just like to see who would be interested in supporting an event like this and if you guys think that its a good idea.

So far i have spoken to a friend of mines who doesn't mind being DJ for the entire day for free. I'm busy speaking to s couple of places to see where I can host the event and when the venue is confirmed i will start looking for sponsors for prizes and hopefully sponsors who can also give us better prices on drinks and food items.

Let me know what you guys think and any help/feedback is more than welcome

Are you sure you want to host a dyno day just before the rennzport/fanatics one? A little poor planning?

Maybe he did not know about the Rennzport one, innocent error on his side? He is thinking of this with a good heart as he described above, highly doubt he intended to host before the other dyno day.

Omar - would you consider now moving the date?

The guys can use the opportunity to see if their cars are fine before the Renzport one?

Dont see this impacting the Renzport dyno day assuming it will be a few weeks before......

I'm in, Omar, it doesn't have to be a Dyno day. I think that you would still be able to raise funds by just having a charity day.

Morning Guys.

Anything involving charity is always a good cause and should be supported whole heartedly by the community. I’m a firm believer in this, and this community has always been very generous in this regard.

I honestly don’t think, Omar did anything intentional and his passion for the cancer Home and the people it assists is what should be focused on here.

As a member of the forum, and apart of the Rennzport team planning the event, let it be known that we will support any initiative to help out the guys. With regard to the timing and hosting the event in July as a dyno day, it is quite close to the Rennzport event, and from being on the events committee of past, 2 paying events in successive months Always affects attendance of either or.

That being said, we’ve also planned 3 successful dyno days, I can safely say, the profits are absolute minimum if any, unless there is sposorship for everything including the dyno runs. For maximum effectiveness for this home, I would suggest BMWFantics run a charity breakfast run, or charity drive as we have for the last few years where we had a massive attendance coupled with an insane amount of support in terms of items required for the places in need. I would be more than happy to offer Omar any assistance in setting up the event for the benefit of those in need.

Hope this post isn't misread, and would for hate Omars idea of helping those in need to be misconstrued either.

Thanks Firi, i really appreciate your feedback and i will look into the idea of having a breakfast run or charity run. The cancer care does not have a home as such but rather the nurse goes to the patients houses and checks up on them and if they require oxygen, an oxygen machine is taken to their house.

I did not realise the rennzport dyno day was in august, as my car is at the panelbeaters so i didn't open it up as my car is not at home. Sorry about that bru

I really enjoyed the breakfast run to Cullinan. Was super fun. How would one generate money for the charity through a breakfast run?
