I vote breakfast run to Maropeng so when get to drive on some awesome scenic twisty roads to the destination.
...and not be held up by some old mercedes benz...:fencelook:

I really enjoyed the breakfast run to Cullinan. Was super fun. How would one generate money for the charity through a breakfast run?

Hi Avi,

What we did before was we did go to a home or destination agreed upon and we all took our donations with us, be it any item from a wishlist or what we could think would help that charity. we also had options for depositing money into the recipients account directly for one of the runs that benefited a family.

With that being said and in Omar's case, we could probably do a run to somewhere, make it a bit of a competition or such and raise funds with tickets to enter, sponsored prizes etc. there are many ways we all can think of especially when we open our hearts up.

I think everyone can chip in and give some ideas on how to raise funds in this case, i am not sure if the sister (nurse) would appreciate a run to her house but when we did it for the family, we had a great time! we spent time with the family and it became a visit from extended friends and family to them rather than a charity run.

Firi - i am really, really going for a long shot here but is there any chance that Rennzport could consider perhaps merging the events? like Omar can join the Rennzport Dyno Day and we do a shared model for the benefit of charity also.

Please, I apologize in advance of any of my thinking is considered selfish to renzzport in anyway or any negative light, i do not intend on that. I just know that Rennzport will pull a great crowd and Rennzport have always been so involved in charity that it might work a great idea.

I am assisting Firi with this and I can honestly tell you, that there is little to no profit at one of these events for anyone involved unless the place hosting and doing the dyno is doing it for free or a fixed cost. I can assure you, this isn't the case with this event. You are welcome to make contact with the sponsors and they will attest that we basically just looking to cover the cost of handing out trophies. The venue we chose also isn't the cheapest places to do a dyno run but it was chosen because of layout and facilities which is miles ahead of many other places in Johannesburg.

I hope this post doesnt come across negatively and appear that we are not trying to assist, i am just trying to paint a realistic picture that an event of this nature will struggle to generate little to any revenue.

Thanks for all the feedback so far guys :praise:. I will start doing some costing and see what is the most profitable way to raise funds where everybody will enjoy the day.

If anyone has any ideas please feel free to post them here in the thread or pm me, as we should look at all possibilities of what we could do.

If this charity event goes well then hopefully we can work together and try to do one every year, helping out a different cause each time.

Fully understood and thank for your input and realistic picture rather than trying to paint a blue sky image and achieving little to nothing. Honesty is best :ty:

Omar, I am game to assist where possible...i have a few ideas...some crazy too lol. I am sure we will come to something that can raise enough funds, the Almighty from above always provides a way where there is a will. :=):
