Petrol swop to a Diesel?

Hi There

I would like to know if there are someone who is doing engine swops from petrol to diesel... the most common is from diesel to petrol. or is it best just to turbo the little m10 motor?

Okay so then the alternative is to chop a 120d coupe and put my classic on top of it but that`s to expensive.

in most cases a donor car is best then you can swap over all the electronics... not going to be easy...

It has been done before ..... Absolute nightmare. Must change tank and everything else

Fit a 3.0d if you're going to do it. But it would be cheaper to just buy an e46 320d.

So it`s best just to keep the M10 motor and give it a snail to give it more power

+1 for buying a doner, watch the online auctions and buy a rear/side smash, or a rollover.

The mechanical stuff most guys can do, the electronics is far more of a challenge.

Doable, but is going to be extremely expensive.... and in my view, nott expensive.

Thinking to stay with the M10 engine. It would be a laugh if you had a 320d motor and electronics in a 1971 bmw 2002 to go to bmw for a service!!!
