Turbo it, or sell it and buy a Z3 M Roadster or Mcoupe.

you could maybe get 20kw out of a full free flow with branch, chip and filter
getting an extra 30kw will not be worth the cost

you should be able to get huge power if you turbo or supercharge but it will be about 60k-80k for a decent job
then you will probably need new brakes and suspension + other random things that will need to be upgraded

here is my 2c worth....dont varking turbo any NA car...its not worth all the trouble.rather sell the car and get a car that allready has extra oomph..or if you really want to modd the car.keep it normal aspirated.a nice set of shrick cams,free flow,chip will do the trick nicely.if memory serves me correct you have the same engine as the 328i.my mods cost be close to 20k and iam making 118kw at wheels with 205nm torque at wheels....that equates to about 171kw and 290nm at the flywheel

how do cams affect power curve? from what little i know i think they move it more to the high rpm range so you get more max power but you sacrifice low end so it becomes less drivable?

no.on my car with the standard 328i intake manifold and cams my torque was nice from low down to about 5000rpm.with the m50 manifold upgrade the power curve moved and its starts pulling lekka froma bout 3000-3500rpm till red line.the manifold upgrade does sacrifice a little bottom end but not much.i got shrick spec cams from vanderlinde developments for R7800 and well worth the bucks hey.

no my friend.that is just the price of the cams alone...this was about a year and half ago....or you can just get your orig cams regrinded but i dont like that option because then they have to machine in your head etc.those or for shrick spec billet cams.going NA performance costs.

just with the cams alone i got the following readings.before cams my car was 133.3kw at flywheel then after it jumped to 141.7kw.the saying goes you pay R1000 for 1kw when going normal aspirated..then with the chip fitted i got reading of 153.3kw at flywheel....then i did the manifold upgrade and if you convert the wheel to flywheel kw it equates to about 171kw at flywheel.

Andrew, I think maybe he was trying to post it that way to reflect his anger for asking, but not being directly answered.
If so, he will quickly learn that staying calm, he will infact eventually get an answer.
I must say, that trying to make that particular car faster might just cost to much.
I agree with some of the people on here, rather sell it and buy something that already has the turbo, or something.
If you REALLY want to make this thing faster, then stick around buddy, stay calm, and you will see...
