If only you could disconnect the 2 middle sensors from the bumper and then reconnect them at a slight angle to point them away from the towbar, push the sensors at the back from the outside to the centre of the car and see if you can get them to stay there. Maybe try that.

I have an aftermarket towbar. Previous owner had pdcs disabled. Pdcs are ticking though

I have always wondered how to lower the volume of the PDC. It's loud in my 5er but can't seem to lower the volume.

My X3 has an electric towbar and with the towbar deployed it doesn't change the PDC operations. If you attach a trailer, the plug has to be connected for the trailer lights otherwise the PDC screams no stop:=):

I am assuming your towbar is aftermarket and permanent deployed?

My 320d had a removable towbar (done by Brink I think it was) and with the towbar attached the PDC didn't scream however the trailer light plugin thingy didnt make a difference like on the X3. If there was a trailer hooked up to the 320d, and reverse engaged, the PDC went ape:=):

The PDC's are supposed to be off when the trailer plug is enabled. Same as my brother's E90 330.. with the towbar on its quiet. When you hook a trailer they scream until you plug in the trailer plug.

if my tow bar is out my pdc doesn't beep unless I engage reverse, and then doesn't beep due to distance between tow bar and bumper but distance from object, once plug is used then disables the rear pdc.

chef,i can set my volume on obc menu on my car,in the settings menu
