Hi Guys

Just did an oil service on my E90. I want to get a new Air filter.

BMW has the filter for R392
Autozone has a GUD filter for R300

Should i go with BMW or Autozone for the filter any difference in quality?

Thanks

Its not hard to make a good filter i would just go for the cheaper one... although R92 is not much extra...

I would just for the BMW one, R92 is not that much, although if BMW is a lot further than autozone, then just go to autozone for theirs.

Just trying to figure out who makes the the filters for BMW as well.

GUD or FRAM doubt BMW takes on the added cost of making their own filters when they can get GUD or FRAM to supply it

I held the BMW filter and the fram filters for my car next to each other. I could not discern a difference in quality at all. I also held it up to the light to see if one uses thinner paper, counted the ribs, etc. They are pretty much technically the same. Color of the plastic/rubber parts may differ though... I fitted the fram filter and kept the BMW one for the next service...

So went to Autozone and Midas and what a load of crap GUD and Fram are supplying. Paper filter with some kind of fluffy material around it.

Will go with the dealer filters.
