Hi guys. Hope recession is treating everyone well. Speaking of which, since we all don't really have spare cash laying around I was wondering if someone can tell me how difficult it is to do my own service on my e46 318i 2005 model. It has 140 k on the clock and it seems it's time for inspection. I though bout taking it to a local car service centre but after a couple of bad experiences I don't trust any of those anymore. Thank guys, really appreciate the input always.

Go to Ross Duncan in Midrand he will not charge you a arm and a leg and his service is Excellent.

I had mine serviced last two weeks ago for 1600. but ended needing to replace my back brakes. so cost me 2700 for all.

Oil service
Back brakes
Polin filter
Brake fluid flush
REsetting of lights and stamped my book.

:praise: Thanx man! I really had a couple of close calls with some other dodgy mechanics. Glad to hear there are still some decent people out there.
Will definitely give him a call. Can't hardly wait to get my baby smooth and sailing again!

Just made my booking for the 7th! Got a quote of R2166 all parts included.
I was also thinking of taking my own oil with. Just not sure what would be best for the 318i 2005. You guys have any idea? Just want good stuff cause the service intervals seems wide apart.
