Hi guys,
So had some time last night - fitted the Osram Night Breakers to replace the high and low beams on my E90. Started by replacing the left (passenger side) headlight low beam and then took these photos to show the difference - unfortunately my old point'n'shoot doesn't really show the difference as much as the eye does! Can see the difference a bit more against the garage door:
Of course the fun didn't stop there... Fitted the driver's side low beam and then the high beam. To access the low beams you need to turn the steering full lock to get to and remove an access panel in each wheel-well. Easy enough, but then "butter-fingers" over here goes and drops the old OEM bulb down into the abyss of the engine bay below the air cleaner box - gone! After the swearing stopped, fitted the new bulb and close everything up.
Eventually after not being able to see where the bulb was, decided the only way to retrieve it was to jack the car up and remove the sump guard - oh, fun! Now you would think that the bulb would reveal itself hey? No, I eventually find it hiding in front of the wheel arch to the side where the fog light is - so with some feeling around the area it eventually surrendered itself to my by now frustrated hand!
Very, very happy with the outcome - the low and high beams are both definitely more "white" and not only that, but seem to have a more full and longer throw to them - well worth the cost and effort!!
