Just bought 2 sets for my father in law. H7 is R120. H4 is R90 and there is another one for R80 or something.

Replaced a globe on the Renault Megane the other day. The manual states removing the front wheel to have access through a panel in the wheel well. And even then it's a tight fit and a cramped hand gesture to get the poor bulb in there.

No but the Megane is legend from that point of view - I am surprised they don't say that oil changes are to be done via the exhaust pipe!! :nonono:

Think it was an episode of 5th Gear that they took a Golf 5 and a Megane to do this exact thing - it took so long for the Megane's bulb to be replaced that the other chap gave the Golf and oil and filter change while waiting!!! :nonono:

Hmm have also heard from guys that on old renaults it was like this as well, where to do even the most mundane of thing required the engine to be lifted out or something of the like.

Hi guys,

So had some time last night - fitted the Osram Night Breakers to replace the high and low beams on my E90. Started by replacing the left (passenger side) headlight low beam and then took these photos to show the difference - unfortunately my old point'n'shoot doesn't really show the difference as much as the eye does! Can see the difference a bit more against the garage door:

Of course the fun didn't stop there... Fitted the driver's side low beam and then the high beam. To access the low beams you need to turn the steering full lock to get to and remove an access panel in each wheel-well. Easy enough, but then "butter-fingers" over here goes and drops the old OEM bulb down into the abyss of the engine bay below the air cleaner box - gone! After the swearing stopped, fitted the new bulb and close everything up.

Eventually after not being able to see where the bulb was, decided the only way to retrieve it was to jack the car up and remove the sump guard - oh, fun! Now you would think that the bulb would reveal itself hey? No, I eventually find it hiding in front of the wheel arch to the side where the fog light is - so with some feeling around the area it eventually surrendered itself to my by now frustrated hand!

Very, very happy with the outcome - the low and high beams are both definitely more "white" and not only that, but seem to have a more full and longer throw to them - well worth the cost and effort!!

I went to Autozone in Boksburg and the Ass quoted me R350 - so I left, will have to make a plan to go to Randburg.

What are the implications of fitting these on an E90 under motor plan? I have warrantee stickers over both low and high beam housings for both headlamps and I already bought the globes...

I've been using these for about 2 months now and I'm very happy with it. I have an e90 LCI and i'm on motorplan. I was a bit concerned about it when I took it in to have the front passenger seat belt sensor checked out (that's another story which is also in this forum) anyways, they didn't have any issues with it and it doesn't throw any errors.

The lighting is way better than the OEM lights.

Did you have the stickers on the globe housings ?? and did you tear or take them off??

Thanks! Very happy with these new bulbs. Motorplan really shouldn't have a problem with this - unless they are totally and ridiculously anal! The bulb type is H7, so technically no different from the stock bulbs - works exactly as the original ones, so no error like you would get with the average LED upgrades and such...

I bought a set also and saw a difference between OEm and Osram plus. was a bit hectic change the gloabe at first but got easier as i learnt the first side, saw a difference that is exactly like yours, but now my driers side globes looks like it is higher than the passanger side, so i might have to go fiddle again with the globe jsut to make sure i did it right.

BTW Autozone Randburg charged R150 for a set guys.

Hmm, all I can think is that the one bulb is just ever so slightly screw or not a 100% seated. Or maybe the actual bulbs vary enough to affect the adjustment of the headlight unit? Of course it appears that there are two or more different headlamp types with completely different bulb housings, and this is still with the pre-facelift, so with the LCI I would think there are others too... Fitting the driver's side bulbs was fairly easy (mine has type 1 fittings) - the passenger's side was tricky to change the high beam. My hands and fingers still bare scares from the tight space with the air cleaner box in the way - but now that I have done this, it will be easier to do in future.
