Hi Guys

We were keen to retrofit a CSL airbox to the e46 m3 well coz it sounds freakin awesome. Looks pretty bolt on and plug and play right?
Let me begin with our 3 day journey which involved giggles, frustration, strippers, pizza, lots of silicone and 3 which then grew to 5 (coz it was just sooo much fun) team of regular okes hunting for the csl growl

DAY 1
Getting the stock airbox off. Simple right? lets find out...
We had to remove the AC schnitzer anti-roll bar, airbox, plenum, maf sensor as its not needed - CSL airbox runs on alpha-n software to manage airflow.

We managed to bend the oil dipstick out of the way :thumbsup:

Then we discovered that the stock breather and pcv pipes werent going to work as one was short and other couldnt bend to position so we needed to modify the pipes. Ran over to builders warehouse to do some shopping.

best part is what i mentioned above is only like 60% of the installation :cursin:
Still busy resizing pics and doing rest of the write lol

Still busy resizing pics and doing rest of the write-up lol
And there wasnt alot of space to work with so everytime we heard something that sounds like cracking or breaking as we squeezed it in we were like :mmm::mmm::bawling:

here's what it sounded like after we were done!

My facial expressions during those 3 days:

start: :excited: :thumbsup::smileysex: :clap:

During: :slap::nono::dropjaw::cursin:::hammerhead::thinking::throwup::argue::puke::confused::drink:
:facepalm::bs::censored::dunno::banghead::
:uhoh::uhoh:

me: :whip: :tashen (for talking me into doing it)

End: :woot::woot:

It was terrible. Nothing fitted like it should (according to us) We had to make a 'plan' for every step..

If I had to do it all over.. I'd take it to Gizmo!!

roughly about 12 wheel kw but i dont think true gains show on dyno unless there's a big enough fan simulating 160kmh :)

Tashen are you maintaining the flap or you going to leave it out?

the flap requires coding. Its for noise reduction anyway so most ppl remove it or just leave it out.
