They have pics of the different exhauses, on there you will see how yours look, and also how the 325 one looks.
I see on there that indeed yours have a sensor after the one cat in the exhaust, but my 325 doesnt.
SO monst likely you will have to get a mini-cat fittet, but go see Kobus.

Good luck.

Just spoke to Kobus again myself, and he told me you called.

Between R850-R1000, so not too bad. :thumb:

I hear you going there tomorrow morning. What time, then I meet you there. I am at work but will slip away for an hour. :fencelook:

If its not to far from you, take the car to Hatfield Noyz Boyz,

They rock those guys

They build a killer SS system for my Sentra 7 years ago, 63mm system, that although big and loud, opened the gate for the ponies and it sounded hot. Damn I loved that car.

Ok, Look for the blue E46, 325i as in my signature, I will be there at 08:00 EXACTLY!! Cause thats how I roll. :thumb:

PS: the earlier you are there, the quicker you can get on the lifts, the quicker your car will be done, and the quicker you can drive her again and hear the difference.

So Stephan showed up with the 318 wagon, and between Kobus and Deon at Noyz boyz they asked him R1000 for a mini-cat box, and a small freeflow box, and a proper freeflow from there to the back box, which we decided should stay on the car in order to prevent it from droning inside the car.

I must honnestly say, for a 318, it sounded REALLY nice when they revved the car a bit, and when Stephan drove off from the robot, I held back, and even for an Autoamtic, the sound of the little engine came out a true bmw symphony. :thumb:

Now I am just waiting for him to come online and post for himself what he thinks...

Hi all.

1st i would like to thank Coisman for helping me to fix my thursty 318.

He is the first member that i have met on this forum and just have to say he is realy a top notch guy.

The gents at hatfield noyz bozy did a great job and i think i now have one of the best sounding 318 e46's around.:inlove:

the car truley sounds amazing and drives better in every way. As i drove home i gave it some beans and where the trip computer read 14.6/100lt before the cat was removed it read 10.5/100lt. I dont think that was too bad.

So as i stoped at home i gave the wife the car to go and do some shopping. Now remember i gave the car to her with teh trip computer stating 10.5/100lt. And got it back later that day stating 14.7/100lt :argh::argh::argh:. So i told her i want to see how she is driving the car.....and to my disbelieve holy crap the woman is driving the sh!t out of it.

Anyway i would just like to thank everbody for there help.

ps.(coisman) i saw you at the robot and you didnt hold back, you gave it your all but i out ran you.:rollsmile:. lol.

thanks bud for your assitance.

cheers.

:bravo:

Glad to be of service mate.

...and yea, you totally right, you outran me, because I just had to hold back and take in that sweet sounding 4 cylinder station wagon that was pulling away at the robot...

PS: It sounds as if your wife and mine will enjoy each other's company, because when I drive my bm it gets 10.5-11.2l/100 in town, but when she drives it... 14.5-15.4l/100 :dropjaw:

I will PM you my phone number, then we can maybe do a KFC night.

PM recieved and I asked, is it an E46 model 318??

If so, then you dont need the mini-cat. As long as the cats in the branches are still there, you should be fine.

Maybe there are other 318 drivers on here that can comment, but in the mean time I can make some calls if you like. :thumb:

we checked there is no cat in the brances just in the exhaust. i dont want to cut it out and risk the car go into limp mode. i heard you can risk this happening. the car is my wifes dd .

please advise.

it has ony 1 cat and 2 sensors. 1 in front of the cat and one in the back. the guys at supa quick says the need to in stall a mini cat to prevent a engine warning light coming on and go ing into limp mode.
I decatted my 325 which only had one sensor in front of the cat. Once removed, no hassles at all. On my X5, it had a sensor before and after the cat as you describe on your car and yes, they had to put the mini cats or cat foolers as some folks call them in. In my case it was done afterwards and the engine light did come on and it did go into limp mode. Once the foolers were fitted, everything back to normal and the car runs perfectly. So I think Supaquick is giving you correct advice/info..

hows the sound difference?

I was driving behind him to the side, and my window open, and it sounded great. Look, its still not a straight 6 sound, but for a 318...
