Firstly thats WAY to much money to pay for that job!!
Secondly for what beemer is this??
Thirdly, yes, I know people in Hatfield if you want a straight forward removal, and I know people in pta-north if you want a nice exhaust-note with the removal.

hi Coisman. pm send

i have a 318 f/l touring. the problem with the de cat is the car needs a mini cat. there are 2 sensors and the mini cat is between R750 and R850 + labour and the resonator. i would love the car to have anice sound but dont want the sound to drone inro the car at highway speed.

if you can recomnd someone that can do the decat the proper way please advise.

PM recieved and I asked, is it an E46 model 318??

If so, then you dont need the mini-cat. As long as the cats in the branches are still there, you should be fine.

Maybe there are other 318 drivers on here that can comment, but in the mean time I can make some calls if you like. :thumb:

we checked there is no cat in the brances just in the exhaust. i dont want to cut it out and risk the car go into limp mode. i heard you can risk this happening. the car is my wifes dd .

please advise.

it has ony 1 cat and 2 sensors. 1 in front of the cat and one in the back. the guys at supa quick says the need to in stall a mini cat to prevent a engine warning light coming on and go ing into limp mode.

If its not to far from you, take the car to Hatfield Noyz Boyz, and ask for Kobus. I just spoke to him, and he says he needs to see the car.
On my 325, there are cats in the branches, and then 2 more in the exhaust pipe, but no sensors after the ones in the pipe, so they can easily be removed.
If your car is having a sensor before the cat, and then another one after, then its true, the mini-cat has to be put in.
Go and see Kobus, even if he has to fit the mini-cat, I am pretty sure he might give you a better price.
Good luck.
