Lots of people also recommend Mobil 1 but I have no experience with that and cannot comment. I last used Liqui Moly TopTec on my M and even after been parked for a lengthy :fencelook: period, once started she purred perfectly

Ahhhh, I am using Mobil 1 0W40...
Both the liquimoly Toptec and Mobil 1 can be used.
Hell, while we at it TWS10W60 too.... Cause I know this will be asked....

At the end of the day, warm the car up properly and change the oil regularly, that matters more than "which oil"..

should be fine..................

On opening my S50b32 valve cover last year which was only serviced by the agents (200K mileage) had this golden colour coating (Risolene) the parts within.

Serviced and changed Oil to mobile 1 5W -40. One year passes and 6K later opened the valve cover nice bare metal looks like its just been assembled.

bit off topic but what causes that golden coating? I opened my cover and it also has the golden thing going. Thought it was better than seeing sludge in their and didnt think much of it up until now.

The oil itself ....it wont harm the engine....,

It builds over time like oxidation on copper OR aluminum

LM GT1 10w60 works out to 113 per L

I can provide free shipping on 10l or more keep the extra 4l for the next oil change :)

guys.. I ran into a brick wall..

you know people say do research to confirm what is best sooooo, did that. I call liqui moly, emailed a few chaps at Castrol and Mobil and shell.. everybody gives their opinion about oil.

MOBIL, CASTROL and LIQUI MOLY all say 5w 40

Shell, listen to this - 15w 40 Shell helix must be used. I nearly shat a brick. I don't even use that type of oil in my wifes C2. The C2's blood stream is filled fully synthetic and runs like a dream. quiet and no rattles.

can someone please explain to the idiot(me) what the hell is going on.

5w - 40 / 0w - 40 should be fine . All knowledgeable ppl have made their comments in this thread.

BMW LLO1 approved oil will work in your car. Check your budget and buy what fits it.
