oil change on 540i

hi guys, my car is due for service soon and i am considering using 'prolong' with my oil change (mobil 0W-40 fully synthetic). i'm not an expert please offer some advice regarding whether it would be okay to add prolong and its benefits/no benefits:thinking:?

The additive package in modern oils is more than adequate.

By adding extra ingredients you could upset the balance of additives in the original oil. Just do regular oil changes instead.

I fully support Rick on this one.

Billions are spent to get the right balance in the oil specification, unless your a chemical engineer, and can design your own oil, you should not really mess with it...

If Prolong and other additives were so good why are they not manufacturer approved ?
I bet Prolong supporters think adding it to your oil makes your oil similar to Magnatec , sticking to your parts !!!
The Mobil synthetic is designed and manufactured to meet or exceed many motor manufacturers requirements .
