It's more subtle than I thought it would be, but that's a good thing. I think it will look better in the metal than the picks... like the X6. It's also so nice to see a V8 under the M5 bonnet again.

i think this M5 looks awesome. IMHO the M5 and the M3 were never supposed to be brash, outlandish looking cars. the beautiful thing about the M3 and the M5 is that you can have a powerful beast waiting to be unleashed at any moment and still look like you have class without seeming like you are a show off or a snob. personally if i had a million rand to spend on a super saloon i wouldnt want it to look like im going through a mid life crisis. or like im trying to get everyone to look at how flashy my car is.i dont need to prove anything to anyone in my opinion if im driving an M5. the M's are supposed to be wolves in sheeps clothing. take a look at all the previous M5's, they are very similar to the standard 5 series of their time. if you want everyone to stare at you and be jealous, or think you are a prick, then get an AMG. the M5 is for the successful gentle man that has class, and wants an amazing car, but doesnt need everyone else staring at him the whole time to remind him just how successful he his.. My 2c

Isn't that kinda the point? Just look at M5's of old.

Will wait to see it in the flesh, perhaps in some different colours and wheels. Front airdam imo too close to the M3, lets wait and see...

more wow factor will come when AMG comes and just tramps over the m5 unfortunatly.
Surely they could of made the m5 slightly different. You can spot a e46 m3 a mile away and not confuse it with a normal 3series, y couldnt they do the same with the m5?

New spec AMG will only match the F10 M5 if you specify that you want the power pack...as for tramping over the m5...not going happen, capacity gap is not that big this time round. Car looks good, M cars are not suppose to have glitter and gold all over them, the idea is, wolf in sheeps clothing.

AMG usually put all their focus into straight line power. When it comes to twists, turns and uneven road surfaces like you get in the real world... I don't think the AMG will be doing much "tramping".

The M range is not suppose to look WOW, they're suppose to drive WOW. If you want a car that looks WOW, get an Aston or something similar. It's the little subtle things that makes and M car special.

A subdued look but it is what is under the bonnet that is going to be the wow factor!!!!

Would be nice though if it had a slightly more muscle look...but that is BMW. It will come as part of their performance accessories...!

I think it looks great, and is keeping with how M5's have always been compared to std 5series.

is that a freaking caliper cover??? :dunno:

In my opinion I think that the design is spot on. If you look at type of person that purchases a m5, 90% of the time it will be a mature, wealthy person, who has obviously becomed accustomed to a certain style/class. So big and brash design features will obviously be a negative point. Even if you look at a basic f10 5 series, it emphasises elegance and beauty, rather than overt sportiness. I suppose that the m3 can be more 'youthful' due to the fact that it is a different class of car. Even previous m5's have had subtle and not big design differences. I think it whats under the skin that counts the most. After all, isnt the M5 supoosed to be the quintessential Q car?
