Good Day Fanatics,

Some of you may have attended a few "official" events in the last couple of months. As Events Administrator, i would like to get a feel from your side how you found the event to be. Please, all feedback is welcomed as this would be a way for us to better the experience.

If you do not wish to discuss in the open, please feel free to PM me as well.

Lets keep it civil and to the point please?

Please state the following:
Name of Event
Date of Event

Improver for your events:
Have clearly demarcated areas where members are allowed to drive or park.
Warn people upfront if they contravened some hidden/unsaid rule to make others unsuspecting/unknowing people aware of such deviations and major rule breaking.

Lastly a load exhaust doesn't constitute racing, who was I supposedly racing . When I probably didn't even drive at 40km/h .

So your major warnings for unknown offenses suck!
Even if they don't carry weight they deter people from being together and creates division !!

Chavoos,

First off, you and i were discussing this via PM. I dont see the need to let this out here at present. (quoted was posted into the Pics thread, I moved it into this feedback thread.).

The warning you received is a 1 month warning for reckless driving at our event which was help at the Swartkops AIRFOCE Base on the 7th of June.

The details of the warning are clear, you drove recklessly on the "runway" of an "active airfield". Dont blame your loud exhaust, i know the difference between a loud exhaust and driving fast.

Whether there are signs and warnings it is irrelevant as you were directed at the gate to use the road provided. We all did. The few guys that did not were warned at the venue. The guy with the Blue F30 (not Bernard) was reprimanded at the gate by the guards, unfortunately, he is not on the forum as far as i know to receive an online warning.

If we were allowed to drive on the runway, the guards would have pointed you that way.

I have posted many times, in almost all event threads, reckless driving is not allowed at events. We will cater for high speed events soon!

Regards,
Arbee

I think that this event was a lot more successful then expected. A bit more marshals should have been selected to assist for logistics on the day. I for one would have loved to help out.

The photography sessions were too long but I think that this was expected as it was a first attempt at something like this and Divio had his work cut out with the amount of cars.

I honestly believe that you did an awesome job dude and something like this must be very very difficult to pull off... Well done and from here its only gonna get better and the hard work is definitely appreciated by myself

I agree to an extent, i expected more but i was grateful for the response as i could focus more on the people attending rather than running the event.

I need more help at events, planning the event is not an issue until i get to the event and there's 5 people than need info from me. It takes times. At the charity event, i had help from Moesky, Fuzz, Jody and bro. Rob also stood at the entry table for a bit. Appreciated it big time. We needed more help, i didnt know how to ask people, as people paid to attend not paid to assist.

For this, i need a commited team, out of all allocated to assist with GP events, only Divio and Jody were available.

Granted and acknowledged. We had a number of 7 cars on the morning of the event. at 1:30pm, we had doubled that. Divio was overwhelmed at the response. Guy deserves every bit of THANKS as he handled that like a boss. I guess the issue here is that guys were hoarding the location as they wanted their own pics taken by themselves. Next time, we will cordon off the area and let one or two in at a time. Get there pics and park off. Once the official photographer is done, it will be a free for all. I waited till everyone was done to get some pics, we left at 5:30pm from the venue.

I honestly believe that you did an awesome job dude and something like this must be very very difficult to pull off... Well done and from here its only gonna get better and the hard work is definitely appreciated by myself

Thanks Gavin, however we need to thanks all involved, especially you, the participant.
Next time, I will try my utmost best to have the entire venue. More than just show and shine, photoshoot...

Cool man...

Yeah apologies I wasn't sure about attending this due to religious obligations... But will love to help out at the next one... Not a improvement required on your part for not involving - I believe that this was up to us fanatics wanting to be involved so I assume responsibility for this as well.

About Divio!
Definitely handled like a boss.... No doubt about that at all...

Rep added... Thanks again...

Correct, i must say again. Moesky, Fuzz and Jody where with me from 7:30am on Saturday until we left the venue. These guys deserve reps as much as I do.

+1 on letting the official photography session end first, before letting others take their own pics. It'll make the effort a lot less for Divio to handle, and also spare him some time to actually enjoy the event away from photography.

Correct, i dont think Divio spoke to many people apart from getting them to line up their cars for the photo session.

We have a lot to iron out, there is a hellava lot for us to learn as well and the only way we can learn, is from our mistakes.

I think, our strategy on Saturday was decent, just a little more planning on certain things and we good to go for a much larger event.

Also, re the raffle setup. Perhaps have a guideline that states who gets the "prize" if a number is called out and that particular number is either not taken, or was sponsored by one of the forum advertisers, instead of anyone just giving it to whomever they deem worthy.

I must admit and apologize about that. Thing is, the flight captain was pressurizing me to get the guys lined up to go for the heli ride and honestly, the number were far too little. You saw, numbers called out where blank so i used a bit of discretion. Apologies!! :sorry:

Set up a guideline. Nearest called to a blank gets the prize.

Not too sure how to go about selecting if a number called is a sponsored ticket? Maybe make it so that sponsored tickets are spread out so others won't know where they are, and then if someone wants to buy that number of their choice you can inform them that that number is sponsored, but for say half price extra they can take that number. It'll just be chance that they wanted to buy the same number that was sponsored. This way the buyer gets a sponsor and saves on his ticket purchase, and you raise more for the raffle.

Just one suggestion from my side, next time we should arrange so that all the people that attend are together. The show and shine was a bit of a distance from the music (obviously this was due to power issues not in our control) but people were all over different areas in groups.

This is just my opinion, and the event was awesome. Thanks again for hosting a great event :bravo:

Thanks Rishie,

Yeah, next time we will allocate an arena area for display and a parking area. Thanks again for your time, I enjoyed the music!

Events Administrator. Wow.

A warning on my profile is in the public domain , right ? But you wanted to discuss on PM.

I only have four points:
1. I was not told of nor were there any rules or demarcations as to where we could drive.
2. I was not reckless ! I wasn't told anything when I exited zwartkops.
3. I probably maxed at about 40/50km/h ,Really fast and reckless?
4. Guys that drove from their parking spots to the plane for their photos, drove similarly.

Events Administrator , sir , I wouldn't have if I knew the rules.
Sorry man.

According to law max speed on the apron of an active airport is between 5-10kmh.
