Damm! That's a stuff-up and a half! When did they work on your car?

Last Saturday. This guy has done tons of cars so can I really blame him? He has done many BMWs too

All the more reason I would think - should know better. Maybe have diagnostics run and see what comes up, but I would go back to him if this is indeed damage from his work!

I just hope that if it is indeed the LCM doing this, that it doesn't progress any further cos I can live with a slight flicker when i tap the gas. It's not like the interior lights are on all the time when the car is running and if it constant, then it is perfect.

go back to the exhaust shop try tell them what happened and 90% chance they will deny everything...

say they have been doing exhausts for 30 years and there is no way welding can damage anything... they will also probably tell you that you crazy and the internet is not real...

i would definitely report it to them on the small chance that they are part of the 10% and they learn to disconnect the battery rather than mess up peoples cars...

By the way, I did give him a call a while ago and he was shocked and brushed it off saying that it's a first. Not that I expected any different.

Unless people report items of this nature which doesn't leave me as the only guy, he will realize that it requires a rework.

i have more or less the same problem on my E39.

my interior lights flicker heavily (have not had a proper look at weather the headlights also do this.)

i also had some welding done on my car recently.

i also have engine/induction noise on the Radio that i can not get rid of.
maybe this might be my problem as well.

Hate to say it but this is why we recommended TNT, Viper and Wilcat as its standard practice to disconnect the battery before work is carried out. Your electrics can get messed up easily on these newer models if you weld with the battery connected, did the car start the first time after welding like it had a low battery?

It started fine from what I can remember. Why do you ask though?
