Odd cough when idle

Sup fans,

So I took my car to get serviced yesterday.
Car feels fine today, but I am noticing random slight little coughs when idle.
It doesnt seem to affect performance when I give it gas, only when idle.

If I watch the rev meter, the dip causes the needle to drop by 100 or less revs.

Any ideas?

My 318i did the same after it came back from service. It thought it to be normal.

Doesnt seem normal to me. Ive had this car serviced lots of times to know something aint right.

Well it doesn't seem serious. There's no smoke or problem when I drive it. It's only when it idles that the revs seem to drop a little every now and then.

I would check tat all the plug wires are connected properly, the coils and the MAF.
Did they wash the engine?

nah, they didnt wash the engine. I should probably check that they connected all the plugs right. I dont want anything flying through my bonnet while on the highway.

Just a standard service:
Plugs, oil, filters.

And they checked my fan belt but didnt need replacing.

Thank you sir!

I dont see how the maf would have been touched. Gonna have to go through everything myself. Hope its a simple fix.

not sure on the e36 but on the e46 whan you take the air filter out you have to move the Maf as well as the intake piping... this could disturb the Maf connections and open up cracks in the intake piping if its on it way out...
