Object stuck behind front grill

This morning my 2 year old son decided to take his tooth brush and shove it through the front grill of my E90. As a result the toothbrush fell in the groove sitting between the front radiator and the black inner part of the front bumper.

I tried to remove the toothbrush with some tools but the gap in the grill bars are too narrow and I cannot firmly grip the toothbrush.

I did some research on how to remove the grill, but it seemed way to complicated and there is a possibility of me damaging the grill.

So my question is, do I have to worry about the toothbrush being there? could it cause any damage to the radiator and connecting parts?

Any suggestions welcomed.

Stand in front of the car.
Put your fingers (using both hands) between the bones on the grill and lift up.
Whilst pulling up pull backwards towards yourself.
Should take 2 seconds.

lol. I managed to buy a cheap braai tongs. Tried it out and almost had it, but it slipped down into the bottom grill area. At least it is away from the radiator pipes.

As per frazer...just make sure you open the bonnet then you can see how easy it is.

Thanks. Now that it fell to the bottom grill area. any tips on getting the center grill loose.

Okay...thats even easier to remove. Just wigle ut gently to get the clips to unhook. Start at the top & pushing down & towards you...i think. :thumbs:

Those grills brake easy. I have replaced one already because a piece of bone in the road shot up and went right through. R250 later I had a New one from the agents. They always have stock because they are so flimsy. Ja you have to push back very carefully and wiggle towords the radiator. once all of them are loose you will be able to slide it up or down a bit

I have never brushed my BMW's grills. Do you guys think they will rot and fall out? I have fed them various birds, a ginuea fowl and also a steenbok at one stage, but never brushed afterwards...
