Hi Guys

Ive after a long and patient wait I've finally bought myself my dream car. 2005 325ci M Sport (attached)
it need a couple of things to be sorted, please can you guys advise.
1. sunroof shade does not always come back when trying to close it when fully opened, i have to dig my hand inside the roof and pull the shade out.
2. the left service indicator button on the cluster does not respond at all.
3. it has a cream interior which is very sexy but not practical at all. im thinking of putting in black mats.
4. the ride also is very low and sexy with the 19's but not practical either, it keeps touching when i have passangers or when the boot is full, the suspension is the original one.
5. the gear knob is a very nasty looking aftermarket knob, i want to put back the original.
6. I'd like to fit the Xenons with the Angel Eyes and matching fog lights.
7. i was advised to change the gearbox oil since i dont know how the last driver drove the car, what oil should i use?
please can you guys comment and advise.

Hi and welcome to the forum. You have a stunning car :blowheart:

Black mats will suit just fine, as you have a black dash and black trim. Just get decent BMW mats and not aftermarket rubbish and it will look pretty good.

The sunroof will need stripping to sort out the shade. Sounds like there's a clip broken somewhere which catches on the sliding mechanism.

The xenon lights retrofit will be pretty expensive. How do you plan on doing it?

Take the rims back down to 17's with stock size tyres. If you can get a set of style 42's or the same style you have now in 17's, car will look awesome.

Re the gearknob, there are one or two forum advertisers that stock really nice gearknobs who may be able to help you out.

Replacing the clips on the sunroof shade should sort things out. Quite easy to do. You just need the right Torx screwdriver to take off the glass panel, if I remember correctly. The stealers do charge quite a price for those little plastic thingies, though.

As for the tyres touching the bodywork, I suppose the arches can be rolled. But get somebody who knows how to do it. Or change to 18s. There might even be a wheel nut here who will swop. Those 19s so look nice, so I would keep them. Do not drive around with the tyres scraping the body. One of them might get damaged enough to burst later on. I would rather not divulge how I know that.

perfect example of the type of car i will be looking for next year .. congrats on an epic car man!! ..

the rear wheel offsets are probably a bit too agressive for the arches .. hence the touching ..

thanks for the kind and wise words.
yes it was on gumtree for a bit.
there is another one posted that is exactly the same, just with the standard rims and 98k on the clock, the guy wants R140k for it.
once all the nitty gritty's are sorted im going to try and get my hands on the individual rims that came standard, its just that its soo pretty now.
any advice about the gearbox oil and the clustor?
@Pho3niX90 - with regards to the lights, i have no idea about how to do it, i assume the entire fitting would have to be changed? and i have a feeling i will have to dig deep into my pockets for that.
any advice regarding a 3rd party warranty?

I thought the wheels look familiar. Then the light bulb went on. They were standard fitment on another BMW of the same era.

Behold, the M3 CSL!

Awesome! :praise:

PS: Looking at the size of those CSL fender flares, I can see where the rub lies.
