no stock on tyres for 135

So here`s the problem
My previous post was I need tyres.
It would seem that there are no tyres in the country for the 135 if you want to stay on rft's.
Has anyone else had the same issue. What is BMW's standpoint on this? Can they give permission to go to a different size. To complicate matters further I only need to change the rear's.
I must add, I love my ride but with the whole BMW attitude these days they make it had to be loyal. Everything with these guys seems to be an issue.

Had the same prob a few months ago.. Still a shortage I see. Call up some branches not in your area as you may need to take a drive. Ask if they even have 1 in stock - I had to buy seperate tyres from seperate tyre places. Managed to get 1 from BMW themselves, and the other from another tyre place - supaquick etc.

Also had to wait 2 weeks for tires. Ended up settling for my 3rd choice, and now have a tire I hate.

Yup same story myside. Looking for Potenza 215/40/18's RFT's.... No1 has.
I;ve phoned TWS, Nazcar, Tiger Wheels, Supa Quicks, Hi'Q.s & JSN....
Prices ranged from R3,1k upto R5,5k per Tyre!

Will just have to wait a couple of weeks.

Really shitty lateral grip. And that was going from 255 Conti's to 275 Hankooks

I've heard people say that the Hankooks have soft side walls which could be causing this. Not sure, but what about the going from 255 to 275? Has that not made matters worse now that the tyre is possibly wider than the rim wants? Assuming of course that 255 was the correct size? Tyre pressures?

Is the Bridgestone Potenza RE050 not first generation RFT? I had them on my '07 with 18" wheels and they where k@k to say the least. So bad infact that I once spun off the road on my way to a meet @ 120km/h after hitting a small patch of water...

Replaced them with P-Zero's and they where a lot beter, currently have Mitchelin Pilot Sport 2's on  AWESOME TIRES!

You sure that wasn't an oil patch on a bend when you were accelerating? I have the RE050 RFT and they are awesome.

No Seether, just water and on a straight road (N17 between Secunda & JHB), trust me I went to look. I could not believe it.

I didnt like the way they handled, and a bit noisy IMO in comparrison with the Mitchelins. I know the Mitchelins are more expensive but worth every cent IMO.
