NO BOOST!!!

Hi guys

so i have another gremlin that has krept in and i cant seem to find the problem.As the title states i have no boost on my car.I had the codes read and it indicated to the MAF so we replaced it with one from another 320d and it still did the same thing.All boost pipes are intact and not leaking and the car is also not smoking.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Is the turbo spooling at all?

you can hear the turbo spooling very clearly we can also see the actuator moving when revving the car up a bit

Make sure ALL the vacuum pipes are still okay, remove the engine decretive cover and follow the pipes from start to finish on al of them.

thanks for the advise guys im going to spend the day tomorrow checking all the vacuum lines and will give feedback if problem is resolved

if e46, turbo mani might be cracked or gate might be stuck open from carbon build

e90 check the intercooler they are plastic sides and can crack

so just to update this thread we have checked all the vacuum lines,turbo,intercooler and boost pipes.even had a brand new MAF in and it boosted for a while and then nothing again i am now clueless as what can be wrong any more ideas guys?

I had a problem with my "new" 2005 x3 2l d in that the performance was very "flat" after removing the swirl flaps and disconnecting the egr.
When i came back from the test run i found i had not fitted the stainless steel egr pipe going to the egr correctly and it was leaking there. Fixed the problem and the car was boosting again normally. Also, those hose clamps need to be very tight!
