spoke to some of the manne in exclusively ///m.....we would like to know if u boys would like to do a joint run/get together after the fast ....maybe the 1st week in october ....and braai or something...let me know your thoughts ...would be great!

Was thinking about something like this over the weekend. Only issue I see here is if we end up being something like 40 cars. Having them in convoy can get us into trouble... thanks to some new laws. So I though maybe it would be a good idea to have everyone go in groups and we all then meet at one place for the braai or what ever.

Anyway, that's a side thought for now.

What constitutes a convoy? 40 BMW's (or even ST's) in a row or 40 of any type car in a row? How come bumper traffic in peak hour traffic is not a convoy? Or normal driving? What makes the convoy's driving erratic or dangerous? If you have to pass a truck EVERYBODY in the convoy won't do it at the same time, just as when there were 40 random cars behind a truck... Help me out here...

True, but they can now fine you if you drive in a convoy over a weekend. Convoy = Group going together to the same place. I don't know how many cars have to be in a Convoy/Group to qualify for a fine though.

It does suck though... would have loved to be able to see all them BMW's on the road.

I stand corrected, but you cannot drive in Convoy over the weekend, but during the week its another story.

I must say, the pics of the last meet up looks AWESOME!!! Its nice to see so many Beemers in one place. What a patriotic feeling!

Ok, the fine for driving in convoy during the weekend is R500 and one point, so the management of the BMW forum have decided to not ask admittance fees for our meets, but purely that you keep your license handy should the finest in blue need the little number on it as well as that you keep R500 handy in the glovebox...

In all seriousness now, I will have a look at the legal matters surrounding a convoy. If there is anybody with a mate or two in blue, please inquire by them please as to keep all our meets friendly and safe!

hey guys.....reading your thoughts ......glad you guys would like to do this real soon......we were thinking a nice scenic drive not to far ...just enough to stretch the legs of our vehicles .....either tokia forest or silvermine etc...and have a lekker braai and socialising.....our guys are meeting real soon ...so we will get back to you with a date to see if its feasible on your calendars etc......
