Hi guys, should have done my intro here before posting in classifieds :giggle: but nice to join a car forum again after such a long absence. Life's just been too busy the past few years contributing to the boards. 1st time on the BMW forum and 1st time BMW owner as well... minus my MINI ownership experience. Coming over from the VAG stable with VW and Audi's in my past life. However, my wife has owned multiple BMWs, hence we're back in one! This time round in an EV. So another 1st - EV ownership! Noticed the iX1 is not available in SA yet? We picked up our IX1 x-Drive 30 M a few weeks ago over here in Switzerland and I must admit a very nice vehicle. I'll post more in i-Forum on the ownership experience. The Swiss are very picky about their cars and have seen some seriously pimped out rides since we've been here. Will try and catch 'em when I can and share with all of you! Cheers for now, jvdb.

Welcome to the forum! Nice to see some international input here. I was recently in Europe and I did notice how the Swiss seem to generally have nicer cars compared to their neighbors

Some countries (like Portugal) are downright communist when it comes to cars lol

Thanks Benji, quite right and the number of exotics you spot everyday is pretty crazy. The farmer up the hill from us casually drives his Bentayga as a daily driver - just parks it outside under a carport LOL! Go into Zurich and it's full of RRs, Brabus's, supercars and collectible Classics. Hop over into Italy and it's quite a shock to see "ordinary" cars again. EVs very popular as well as the Swiss are all about Bio and Green. Also notice the appetite for a lot of smaller cars- makes sense considering the small parking garages. MINI very popular and so are the Fiat 500s and not to mention these https://microlino-car.com/en-ch/microlino. As Saffa, having spend the past 9 years in the US it's quite a contrast!
