SO its been a while and I have not posted an update or anything....

Been loving the car to much!!! :smilebounce:

So seems like the laser in the BMW pro radio is either dirty or damaged cause when i put a copied cd/mp3 in it tends to skip like the disc is scratched got me a CD cleaner which i tried made it abit better but still no luck with that... currently using my phone (spotify) and aux cable to play music...

Gave the car a good wash and clay bar treatment... and then a good wax all DNA and meguiers products.... also picked up some Auto Glym leather cleaner and show prep leather treatment which will take me some time to get done but thats on the cards also, and then will book the car in for a proper exterior detail to get rid of all the swirls... but until then keeping the body as best as I can...

Mechanically she is perfect running lovely just booked the car in to Kinetic Garage for the oil service... and then will be looking at doing the downpipe and software soon very soon.... cant wait to see what the power is like!! :biglol:

Also going to be doing a few cosmetic mods soon with the gloss black kidney grills and removing the ugly brown tint that the car has and putting some proper black tint on... and was thinking maybe laminX the headlights and tails but i really dont want it to look cheap.... so thats still on the cards of another option to get it done...

But for now thats about it..... busy with work so when i get a chance get abit done on the car and the cleaning is killing me lol to OCD for my own liking lol and the worst part is everytime my wife see's me do something on the car she knows i bought something new for it :roflol:

OOOOOHHH!!! going to Ace Exhaust in KZN to do the Downpipe heard some amazing things from them and super helpfull

Been a while since I posted on my thread, not much has really changed on the car..

Did a few small upgrades:

My car has the hifi 2 sound system which didn't come with USB. I upgraded the radio and retro fitted the oem USB cable which worel

So with the audio

I upgrade the radio with a bmw professional with Bluetooth and usb, then retro fitted an oem USB cable to the center console with the new ubs/aux port. Works like a charm no coding need and the PDC gong is different, also noticed that the PDC will beep according to the side the obstacles are.

I fitted new wheels

Finally During lock down I got a chance to change my wheels. My wheel of choice was a set of style 350M wheels from the bmw F10. Had to make up a set of hubcentric spacers for the rears but they fit perfect.

Performance wise I finally got around to doing the downpipe in the car and still no software. But I have purchased a set of 335i from brakes to fill the gaps of the new wheels will upload pics once fitted. Still need to purchase new discs for it but soon.

Had a small snag with a coolant leak and after some research and talking to feel members discovered it was the dreaded water pipe on the side of the head under the intake. Bought the new pipe and gaskets from super tech Durban and got it fitted in Johannesburg. Everything seems to be good no leaks but still monitor the car just to be sure.

Next on the list is new tyres and either software or front brake upgrade to be completed lol same price as the black Friday specials

Cheers gents loving every moment with the car hopefully next year will be time to upgrade

Looking good bud, love those wheels (y) are those the rear calipers? Were the front calipers from a 335 not 4 pots?

Car looks beautiful bud well done! Wheels really suit it at first glance looks like the 17inch E90 MSport wheels but fills the arches better.

Been a while since I posted on my thread

Just had some basic things done to the car... Still kept clean but wear and tear has caught up with the age...

Finally had the downpipe done on the car.. Sounds amazing and more responsive soon will go in for a decent exhaust as well... Next step would be to get the software done.

I eventually got around to fitting the 335i front brake setup and painted the rear calipers also... Next step here would be some upgraded disc's and pads and braided lines

Because of the age of the car I have some suspension sounds coming from the front so a check up is needed weighing out options to install coilovers and m3 upper and lower control arms and doing the stabilizer bar bushing to poly as well but this is just for more durability... Any advice here would be great?

Other then the normal wear on the steering which annoys the hell out of me I have a few small upgrades coming soon interior upgrades and exterior

More diy diy diy... Only way to learn

Howsit Gents

So time for more updates on my journey with the 20D...

Just want say I still love this car and it makes me smile daily

I finally got around to doing my tyres, Dunlop Midrand was my choice of dealer to get the job done... I went with non RFT 255/35/18 in the rear and the fronts because of them not having stock of the 225/35/18 I opted for 195/40/18 which fits the wheels abit better from the previous 225/40/18 (I made sure the rotations of the wheels all add up and not losing out on per kmh roll etc)

While at the Tyre shop a buddy sourced me a set of Eibach pro kit springs for the car and the next day we did the install at Dunlop Midrand. The front of the car is lower then stock but still perfect ride height to go over any bump, the rears are still abit high and I'm waiting for the springs to settle the see if I'm happy with the rear ride height or we might make a plan and get it a smidge lower... I have to say the ride is amazing and the car is a ton more responsive and planted now.

Have to say awesome service from Dunlop Midrand if you guys ever need anything get in touch with Faidh

With all the small changes planned the next job would be to tackle the hazzy headlights and might be sending them in to have the insides "Joey modded" and with the addition of a set of canbus Leds both for the high beam, low beam, and fogs... Will include the angel rings as well as I love the all white xenon look

Also just a few quick snaps after I did 5he springs and got the car washed...

Till the next update.... Slow and steady progress on the Baby 20D

Hey bud those are the front calipers, the rears require a few mods to get them to fit on the 20D, so I just did the front which is perfect...

It's update time....

Still loving my car daily, actually haven't gotten around to do the software and other performance mods that I have planned but....

I did fit a set of FK coilovers and boy oh boy am I loving the stance now. The ride isnt to bad but then again I have it decently low considering our roads...

Will be cleaning up the oxidation on the headlights and fogs very soon, with that hopefully will be adding some brighter bulbs not 100% yet on which route but between Leds and normal halogen brighter bulbs..

Front bumper will get some love as well with a fresh set of msport splitters very soon...

On a lighter note. Small boot mods will be rubber mat for the boot and the addition of a 10" inch sub with side mount box for some extra sauce in the sound system..

That's all for now... Till the next dirty diesel update

Absolutely loving my car, took some late night pics after a well deserved wash and polish...

Everyday we learn, and after doing some research I found that when lowering a e90 on coilovers you are required to use longer drop links in the front and shorter links in the rear... Very interesting find but will be doing adjustable links up front this week and then when I do find short rear links will do those as well

But on the cards will be to upgrade the front and rear arbs to m3 set up including some m3 control arms

If I can get them in good condition and at a good price

More progress to come soon

Car looks great bud. I am also a recent owner of a white 320d, Msport, LCI.
How is the ride with the FK coilovers? I always had them on my previous cars (non BMW) and the ride was okay, not that great when adjusted too low.

Congrats on the new wheels bud,

The ride isn't bad at all because of the bulky design I need to raise my car lol speed bumps and entry points to malls etc isn't my best friend...

The ride is good abit bumpy but nothing you can't live with also would depend on how low u go

Some more small updates...

Got around to doing that headlight and fog light restoration... My choice was to save the oem fogs even though they have some cracks and chips...

Cleaned up quiet good if u ask me almost as good as new, will get them either covered in clear laminx or have them ceramic coated to keep that extra protection.

Let me know you thoughts...
