Hola Fanatics

New not so new member.. been in the shadow. Posted my bmw story in new members forum. These are my babies. The sledge hammer (the 140i) the bare knuckle brawler (325i) and the autbahn barnstomer ( 530i).. All have such different characters. I am a sucker for a straight 6, rear wheel drive BMW... the saga continues. Top of wishlist is a E46 M3 and a E39 M5. Learned a lot from the forum and will share my experience of these. Owned the 140 for 4 years, 3 years on the 325 and 6 months on the 530i. All the cars are stock besides the cosmetics mods on the 325i ( M3 bumper and 17 style 32's)

Dankie Ngiyabonga!

yeer 2 years passes like nothing these days... anyways! a little updated... gone is the M140i.. oooh how I miss that car... in its place with big shoes to fill is a M2C, what a weapon of a car that is.. and to be honest she is a garage queen. in the 2 years of ownership I had done 7k km with a smile on face and tire bill to boot!. I love that car, its a 2018 model and sitting on 41k today.. the 325i remains with very interesting problem but she is my fighter that girly. 30 Years old this year. the 530i ( best car ever made) remains and is my highway and daily warrior. And with great stupidity come great bills. I decided getting a E39 M5 that sat for a decade under a tree was a brilliant idea! acquired this said bad decision and currently working on it.. its a 1999 car and interesting fact after some digging around, the car is one of the first M5 to come into the country and the log book states it was a BMW South Africa press car and I have tried to spot in articles and such and can't seem to find it.. after which it was owned by one owner and then my dumb ass bought it... with that kind of history she deserves a new lease on life! what does it need.. everything.! I have done the oily bits my self. super honest car... all original, no accident. the previous owner did repaint the car ( not the best quality job). engine wise I have done a host of thing. timing chains tensioner, coils, major services which included 2 oil changes to flush out all the 9 year old oil, water pump, thermostat, new aux fan, fan clutch. she runs pretty well. there is some chain slap on cold start but I don't trust my skills with changing timing chain guides. I did check the oil pick up and thankfully nothing there. changed the gearbox oil and diff oil ( that stuff is expensive) Suspension wise I have OEM shocks on order, back and fronts, control arms, stabillizer links, transmission mounts and rear bushes. New brake discs, new pads, sensor blah blah. The bill has been eye watering and I'm close to bankruptcy but I really wanted to keep her OEM as far as possible so me and the BMW dealerships are frenemies!. new headlight washer and windscreen nozzles and piping, new fog lights, new BMW battery and battery box, bonnet cables, new grills.. I'm crying just thinking about it. I have had the car for 7 months and I bit by bit been fixing what I can... OH! sourced OEM rims and bought tires for it. Michellins were impossible to find so went with Bridgestone sports.. mileage.. well I don't know because the pixels are dead! and in between all this madness my sadistic dumb ass decided its a good idea to get a Toyota Cressida 3.0i with the engine in a billion pieces.. that project is pretty much complete and my word I love that thing.. rebuilt engine with new pistons, crank, all the way to the top.! took it on road trip from PMB to PTA and she was excellent.. Yes this write up means nothing with pictures and I will correct this soon! I do apologise. my documenting skills are as poor as my financial decisions skills!

Wow, congratulations on an awesome garage!

I eagerly look forward to more pics of the E39s in 2 years time, the M5 especially...there should be a proper revival thread of that car please
