Welcome. Share some pics once you've taken delivery.

Thanks guys. Quick question. I noticed at he dealer there is no jack or wheel spanner. Just a towing eye. Do F30’s not come with these? I know there is no spare tyre for due to runflats.

Please help.

After 7 years, i still use runflats, far less headache than getting a flat and changing a tyre, also safer for when the wife uses my car,

Thanks guys for the prompt response. Was worried there for abit.

The dealer wants to add a BMW service plan. Is that worth it? Or should I just use tunetech instead?

You get a discount on Services at ABM ( BMW midrand) since you are a since forum. I would rather pay for them cash anyways.

Nb. You cannot get aftermarket warranties for hybrids, I tried. 🙂

Strange. They selling me the car with a warranty. It’s with guard risk insurance.

So I took delivery yesterday in the late afternoon. I must say the AH3 is a very pleasant space to be in. Ride is smooth and comfortable with no jarring and crashing of suspension on undulations. The cabin is surprisingly quite and somber.

Haven’t driven a BMW for a while now. My last BMW was 2008 325i Step M sport. The steering feel for some reason is not as great as I remember in the E90.

Other than that aspect it seems the cabin has aged very gracefully with the no form of wear or tear on the furniture or dash.

The electric motor is lovely providing dead quite silky smooth operation during speeds less than ~50km/hr. Perfect for traffic driving. It also provides a substantial boost in power and torque to the gasoline engine when you put your foot down.

All in all I am happy with the purchase.

In terms of issues to resolve, there is a bumper scuff on the driver’s side front which I need sorting out, its barely visible to the naked eye but I would prefer fixing.

There is also 220440 error on the EME 2, which says “starter unit, auxiliary battery”. I need to talk to tunetech about this.

All in all I am happy with the purchase.

I will post pics soon.

Hi @AllyA and welcome back to BMW!

Very interested to see your thoughts in a few week on the AH3. Must say they are quite foreign to the inner Diesel boy in me.

The electric motor in traffic is awesome.

Congrats & safe driving!

Aux battery is the tiny little extra battery that sits on top of a the normal car battery on the right of the boot. This like any other battery eventually needs replacing.

The AH battery is below the boot floor

Also the Aux battery helps with all the electric components and sensors etc. In the car
