Hi,

I have just recently purchased my very first BMW(2011 BMW X1 2.0D A/T M- SPORT 78000km)about about 3 week ago. Been browsing the forum for a few months now and decided to go with Diesel. Very happy with the car although it seems a bit heavy for Diesel averaging about 12l

Welcome!! Congrats on the purchase! My bro-in-slaw bought the exact same spec vehicle in a certain blue colour. He also experienced the same fuel consumption and returned the vehicle to the dealership as the fuel consumption was nothing as the book quoted. Dealership gave him a great deal on a 520d afterwards as good will for the lemon X1. Drive a bit more and see and if still no change then check with dealership again, run diagnostics etc

Welcome and great decision on the diesel. :clapper: The fuel consumption is on the high side for that engine. IF it persists, definitely take it back to the dealership and give them horns. :cartel:

Congrats on the new car.

this is the same engine I have on my 320d , I average 6.9l/100km in mixed driving.
before jumping the gun, try resetting and do some hi-way driving over the weekend and then check.

Too high mate.. needs a look in! My wife gets around 6/7l per 100.. same car! I'm sitting at 8.9l/100 on 335I, manual though
