New member needing help

Hi. My name is Owen, i live in Springs and own a 2002 330D facelift. Not sure if this would be in the right thread but i am having major problems locating a new or second hand alternator for my BM. I would welcome any advise on where i might find one. Thanks

Scrap yards for second hand, although you never know the life it has left.

New... Expensive. Bosch.

I shop at these scrapyards, though in Pretoria west, Bemow 0123270763 and Majestic 0123770900. They are ok with their second hand parts :rollsmile:

Some advice, when you go to the scrapyard to collect your alternator do take a photo or your actual alternator with you.

With these bm's you never know what has changed from one year to the next. Just play it save. I always take many photos :roflol: of the unit and then go shopping :rollsmile:

So to put this story to bed i had no luck at any of the dozen or so scrap yards i tried. New was a bit pricey (+- R5000).I was looking at replacing as the auto electrical shop i took it to said it was irreparable. I took a friends advice and called Lionel's car radio in Springs and they managed to rebuild mine for R1800 So i am back up and running again. Thanks for all the advice and suggestions.
